Our Dr. recommended using Selson Blue when our son had cradle cap. We were told not ot use baby oil because it would only make the dry skin stick to the scalp.
I noticed that my 2 year old has scabs that are brown in color on the top of her head she has been scratching them and I used baby oil on it and then washed her head really good what can I do for this?

Gentle naturals makes a cradle cap shampoo. You can also use Paul Mitchel Tea Tree shampoo. And when using the baby oil; put in a small spray bottle and hold hair up so that the mist reaches the scalp.
Believe it or not, the best cure I found for my son's cradle cap was a mild dandruff shampoo. There was one that my pharmacist kept behind the counter, not a prescription, that worked well and was safe for newborns. I was VERY hesitant, but it worked.
I would say consult with a beautician.
I had a friend and one of her children had cradle cap and she used the baby oil. Before she washed their hair she got a toothbrush that no one in her famliy used anymore and it was the soft kind and rubble it on their head and it broke it up. So when she washed it it came out better.

Have you tried Selsum Blue? That is what the Dr. told us to use for our baby's cradle cap and it worked like a charm! Just was the eyes when rinsing...
It sounds like it might be dandruff (seborrheic dermatitis). I used Selson Blue on my baby. My pediatrician said to make sure it had 1% Selenium Sulfide in it. I had dandruff/itching so bad, I used to have scabs as well. If the over the counter stuff doesn't help, you may have to get a prescription for T-Gel or something like that for kids. Here is an info link about seborrheic dermatitis:
