Covered Playground

I have a very active 16 month old little boy. I am looking for a covered playground, indoor playground or any where we could play where he wouldn't get wet from the rain. My son loves to play and having to keep him in the house is really hard some days. Any thoughts or Ideas?

What can I do next?

If you live in Kent, WA, they have an indoor play place (lots of toys in a big multi-purpose room) during the winter at Kent Commons. I have also heard of a church near 124 AVe and 240 St. that have an indoor play place on Mondays.
Other options:
ChuckECheese-doesn't cost money to go in a play
IKEA-when he is pottytrained, leave him in the play area while you take a break at their resturant or browse the store (or sleep on the demo beds <grin>)
Bullwinkle Family Fun Center in Renton, WA - costs money for Kidopilous but fun And you can play with him, so it is great exercise.
Super Mall in Auburn - has a play place inside (go in the door by the gym) I recommend going in the morning when it isn't too crowded.
Southcenter Mall has been remodeled recently - they might have a kids play place now too.

If you can bypass the foods, the playlands at McDonalds and Burger King are pretty good for them to expend a lot of energy and I see a lot of other moms of toddler/preschoolers there, too. Good luck!

You could take him to Chuck E. Cheese. I take my kids and they just play in the tubes and pretend to "ride" the toys. Usually I don't even spend any money while I am there - no tokens or pizza. They love going just to play. Also, try your local community center. They usually have an indoor play park that is open for a few hours a few days a week. Most malls now have some sort of indoor play equipment for children as well.

Hi A.!

I'm not sure what area you are in but I have taken my son to "Tot Lot" at the North Seatac Community Center. Unfornately I am back at work and no longer able to take him :( It is a couple of miles north of the airport. They have it Monday, Wednesday and Friday. They also have it Monday afternoons as well. I'm assuming your son is still taking afternoon naps so this time slot may not work for you. In the mornings it is from 9:45-11:45 (M, W, Fr) and the afternoon is from 1-3 (M only). They only charge $2 and there are lots of ride on toys, tumble mats and other assorted toys. It's more of a free play style. Another mother helps run it. It's great for them to play with other kids and gets mom out too! Let me know if you need any other information and hope this helps! I almost forgot they also have a playground outside. So if it's nice out and if you still have the energy :) you can take them outside to play as well!

South Hill Mall has a "Germ Gym" by the Old Country Buffet that my kids love, but always get sick after playing there. Tacoma Mall, and Super Mall also have play areas. We also like to visit the toy store and just look around at all the toys (and run down the aisles). There are always the fast food places with the toys inside. We go to the library for story time. The Puyallup Rec Center has a toddler Gym time on Tuesdays and Thursdays with lots of toys to play on (that costs money). My cousin just took us to the Federal Way Community Center Pool...it is awesome, but costs money.

We spend a lot of rainy days in our garage. I put some toys out there that they don't get to play with other times, so it is something new.

Good luck!
