I was told that a hot shower can always do that to you. My son was about three and it happened to me. Scared me too.
Hello! This may sound crazy to some people, but I have to see if this has happened to someone else. I got out of the shower the other day and noticed that my boobs were leaking. It looks like colostrum, but I am not sure. I have a 13 month old and when I was pregnant for her they did the same thing just not this early! I am not on the pill or anything, so I know that it is a possibility that I could be pregnant, but I have taken a couple test and they have come back negative. Could it just be too early to detect or is it just my body doing crazy things after having a child.

Call your OB and have them do a blood test. My friend has 3 kids and every time the home preg. test come back next and the urine test at the OB test come back neg. It is something about her urine, so they always have to do blood work.
My guess is you are not pregnant, but everyone is different. My youngest was about two years old when my breasts did this after a shower. I freaked out because my husband had a vasectomy and I was afraid it did not work. My youngest is now three and still after showers and around my period especially my breasts are still tender as if I was nursing. I think it is your body doing weird things. We are all different in different ways.
When are you due for your next period? If it is past due, and you are getting negative home pregnancy test results, and are still worried about being pregnant, I would contact your physician and have a blood pregnancy test done.
If you are not wanting to get pregnant right now, I'd suggest birth control.
My youngest son is 15 months old, and my breasts still do this from time to time. My husband had a vasectomy last summer (2007) so I HOPE I'm not pregnant :-) I would place my bets with your body is doing crazy things.
This happens to me from time to time and i got it checked out and some women just do that. If you are worried you could always buy a test!
Honestly my breasts leak a colostrum type liquid around the time of my period ever since I had my son 5 years ago. It wasn't enough to soak anything just a little bit, and especially after a nice warm shower my nipples would "bead" little bits on the tip.....that's just me though, if you're really concerned check with your doc! Good luck, and keep up the great work with the little one!

A. I had the same thing happen to me a couple of times and with me my system was screwed up that it thought I was pregnant but I was not. I had to be put on some medicine to get things under comtrol. I am not saying this is what is going on with you I am just saying this could be a possibility. If you are really worried about this you can call your doctors office and ask a nurse to help you out or just make that appointment.
Hello A.. You could be preg and should go to your OB and get a test run. However, I remember my breast leaking during showers BEFORE I ever had children or sex, when I was a teenager and young adult. It could just be your body and you never noticed it before or it might be worse since you brestfeed. However, get a blood test done to find out for sure if you are expecting. Best of luck!
This did happen to me and my doctor told me to stop drinking caffiene. I am a big coffee drinker. Still - you should definitely check with your doctor when anything like that out of the ordinary is occuring. Good luck.
Hi A., you may not be pregnant. The same thing happened to me. I have a 14 month old and about a month or two ago I saw something white leaking a bit after a shower and I pinched a little and sure enough is was colostrum. I kept pinching till it stopped, it wasn't much, just a few drops really. I don't know why it happened, but I wasn't pregnant. I did nurse my daughter and stopped a bit early, so that could be why. Honestly I think our bodies just kept producing it in small amounts till it was sure we didn't need it any more. I've been told by another mother of 9, that if my body did need it and for some reason I had to start nursing again, I could have. My body would have just increased production again. Amazing isn't it!
Well, yes to all of it...lol
I'd go see your doc and have a blood test done if you don't want to keep taking home tests.
#1. Are your periods regular? Do you know approximately when you ovulate? Did you have sex a few days prior to and/or after ovulation?
#2. How close are you to the typical day of your period? Have you missed your period?
The earliest I would take a pregnancy test would be 5 days before a potentially missed period; otherwise you're just wasting your money on expensive pee sticks. If it gets to the day of your period and you haven't started then test. If that is negative, wait 3-5 more days and test again.
If you're still uncertain, make an appointment with your doctor for bloodwork.
My boobs leaked off and on for about 2 years after I had my second child
I had that same problem after twins, a hysterectomy, and the first birthday. If I had known then what I know now, I would have taken DHEA and Pregnonolone. They are a natural way to rebalance hormones. Make sure your love-making involves NO breast play and try the above products. You can find them at any health food store.
Hi A., for your sake I hope it's as simple as pregnancy. In my case I had missed periods and my breasts were leaking a little with several negative pregnancy tests. After going to the dr. they found my prolactin hormone level 3 times higher than normal. After more testing they found the cause, a pituitary microadenoma (that's a tiny non cancerous tumor on my pituitary gland). It's not as big of a deal as it sounds, I have a great endocrinologist that monitors everything. I had a few years of trying awful medicines but we've decided that if it's not increasing in size while on no meds and I can handle a few side effects, breast leaking being one, that I can remain med free.
I know I'm probably the unusual, but if you've missed periods with the leaking please have the doc run some blood work to check your prolactin.
I am a mom of 4. When I got pregnant with my youngest, my next youngest was 13 months old, and guess how I knew I was pregnant? You guessed it, exactly the same way, I got out of the shower and I noticed my breasts were leaking. I had only stopped nursing my son 4 months earlier, so I called my sister to ask her if she ever started leaking again months after weaning a baby.
She just laughed at me and said, "Congratulations! I hope it's a girl this time!" I took a test the next day and was pregnant.
However, if you have taken a few tests and they are negative, I recommend that you go see your doctor. For one thing, your doctor can give you a much more accurate pregnancy test. For another, if you aren't pregnant, there may be another reason for the leaking that your doctor should know about.
Good luck!
