Could I Be Pregnant? - Saint Petersburg,FL

We are trying for another one. I've been keeping track of my period for a few months. I started my periods on April 22nd and May 20th. I'm pretty regular, every 28 - 30 days. That means my next period should start around June 17th. Today, June 10th, I had spotting and then bleeding like I was having a period. Could I be pregnant? Is it wishful thinking? UPDATE: I haven't been on any birth control for years and I'm 41 (yeah, that old).

What can I do next?

Too early, plus if you were on the pill and now you are off, your periods could have become irregular (even months after being off) because your body is trying to adjust. Good luck...we are in that same limbo right now!

Just be patient. I know it's hard, when we were trying for our third, I was so impatient that everytime my period was even a few days late, I kept testing only to get a negative and then my period would come! Good luck!

I think it's wishful thinking......it's too early to tell anything until after June 22 at the earliest.............

It will happen, but if you are stressed out about it, it will take longer, just hang in there, and let nature take it's course.........

Take care and hang in there.

I don't think you are pregnant. As you get older your period will change course. Usually you don't have a period after you become pregnant. I would say quit trying so hard to get pregnant, enjoy sex and relax..your chances of getting pregnant are greater when you quit trying. My neighbor got pregnant at 49 years old. They had been trying for 10 years to have a baby. They gave up and forgot about it and decided to just enjoy life with what they had. Next thing she knew she was pregnant when they least expected it. Good Luck!

Very brief. Yes, to your two questions. I forgot how early you can do a home pregnancy test. However, test it yourself and do it again a couple of days later to confirm the result. That is why most home pregnancy tests come in a set of two.

Take a test or go see your dr that is the only way to tell for sure.

It sounds more like your cycle is off track, sorry. I know how frustrating it is to be trying!
Bleeding (beyond implantation spotting) is not a sign of a healthy pregnancy anyway, but if you stop bleeding within a few hours, and don't start again, then take a pregnancy test in a week, and see. Chances are slim, but it's possible.
Hang in there! It will happen!
ADDED: Just saw your age--- erratic cycles are common in perimenopause, so this could very well be what's happening. This doesn't affect your fertility, however, so don't worry!!!

You can be pregnant and still have a period. With my second child we had been trying for a few months when I was sure "it took" but I ended up spotting and had a short period so I figuredI wasn't pregnant. But, I took a pregnancy test and it was positive! So, you can have a period and still be pregnant.
