Hi A.,
I don't understand, did you take a pregnancy test?
Even if you had bleeding you'd have to have a positive pregnancy test eventually since you'd have to be producing the HCG hormone....
Hello, I missed my period on March 11th but even before that I felt like I was pregnant. I was gaining weight and my chest was getting bigger. Has anyone been pregnant without missing their period? Not sure if I'm just being paranoid or if I could just be gaining weight (I have been eating more). I have been pregnant 3 other times and I never started to show until I was about 5 or 6mths along. My fear now is that it would be twins (even though they don't run in either side of the family). I called my doctor but they can't get me in until April 30th and I don't really want to wait that long so I thought I would ask other Mom's out there if they've ever been pregnant without missing their period.

Go to the drugstore, buy a pregnancy test, and pee on the stick. If you think you have twins, then it should DEFINITELY register. Did you have unprotected sex a little over 2 weeks ago? If so, you could be pregnant.
It is normal to have implantation bleeding 6 days after conception or later. Also, some women have bleeding/spotting that is dark brown/maroon in color which can also be pretty normal. Some women bled off and on their whole pregnancy and delivered healthy children.
I've had periods like normal with a few of my pregnancies, sometimes it happens for whatever reason.
It is possible to be pregnant and still have a period - my mom was 6 months pregnant before she found out because she was still having her periods and just thought everything else was stress. Also though the more children you have the earlier you show. When I went in to have my first son everyone thought I was only 6 months along but with with third I was showing after 4 months. Could you get on the doctors waitlist for cancellations to try and get in earlier? good luck!!
Hi A.,
I am not quite sure if I'm a lot of help here, I took a pregnancy test with my first DD and it was positive, so I made a doctors appointment and they calculated my due date with the date of my last menstrual cycle. The doctor said that I should be about 8 weeks along, but still wanted to do an ultrasound, well it turned out that I was in fact 4 weeks further than calculated! So I had a menstrual cycle while already pregnant, it was different though, not as strong. Hope this helps in any way.

Consider looking for a pregnancy resource center (also known as crisis pregnancy center) in your area (you can usually find them under "abortion alternatives" in the phone book. Many of these offer free ultrasounds to help women determine gestational age, viability and number of fetuses! The center where I work in Kettering, Ohio, offers ultrasounds like these. You do not actually have to be experiencing a "crisis" pregnancy to get an ultrasound in most of these centers. They can help you determine whether you might be further along than you think (and though bleeding throughout pregnancy, as you've described, is unusual, it does occasionally happen).
I was told that with each child you can show earlier and earlier and also the symptoms can appear sooner.....Sometimes, and probably more often than that, the estimated gestation is off by 3 to 4 weeks. Having a "final period is not uncomon depending on the cycle, conception, and individual woman. I have had a "final period" with two of my pregnancies. Was told I was 6 weeks pregnant and as it turned out I was 11 weeks.....That is huge in gestation time. I too thought that I was having twins myself because with my last daughter I showed so early and gained weight so fast...It had to be twins....I thought. My doctor told me that after each pregnancy the body changes and does not go completely back to the pre baby body. No matter wehter you appeared to go back into those jeans or not. Each pregnancy is slightly different than the one before and so is the progression. Also it is said that each baby weighs slightly more than the one before as well. It just could be your body is different with the fourth pregnancy and reacting earlier---hey your body knows what to do-it has done it three times before. I would not worry as long as you are not in any pain or having trouble.
I dont know if I helped but take care and good luck.
I haven't had any personal experience with this, but I know people that have. I know a woman that had a regular period the entire time she was pregnant with her first child. In fact, she didn't even know she was pregnant until she went into labor. Now, personally, I don't know how you can be that far along and not know, but I guess it could happen. She also tested negative on all the pee tests. If you think you're pregnant, I would go ahead and have a blood test done. They can measure your HCG levels and let you know for sure. Your dr's office may be able to give you an order for blood work to be done at the hospital or an outside lab without actually going to the office. It wouldn't hurt to ask! :)
First of, i'm a mother of twins and a signleton. with both pregnancies, I spotted when i should have had my period - I actually thought it was my period, put a tampon in and then never really got my period full swing.. With the twins, i gained weight like crazy befor i even knew i was pg - the kids in my classroom even asked me if i was pregnant. With my signleton, i did the same thing with spotting and all. I knew then that i was pregnant without taking the test and I did gain weight fast with that pg too. On a side not about multiples, identicals are flukes in a matter of speaking. with identicals, the egg just happens to seperate into two. With fraternal twins, the woman produces two eggs that get fertilized (these are the ones that can run in a family). In saying that, it doesnt matter if twins are on the husbands side or not, its the female that determines twins (wheter or not her egg splits or if she produces two eggs). Hope that clears some stuff up. We thought that we were doomed with twins b/c my husband and I both have them in our fmilies....our genetic councelor told us what i told you above and we ended up with identical twins anyways LOL.

Call your dr. and ask for an order to go to the lab and get a quantitative hcg. Then you will have a better idea of just how far along you are by how much hcg is in your system. Just know that after a few pregnancies you get bigger faster. With my third it was the same thing. I got so big so fast that I thought I had twins too.
