Here is a little histroy about me. I have endometriosis and was put on a pill thereapy which only allowed for me to have about four periods a year. When I got married my husband and I decided to go off of the pill and see what happened. We were not expecting anything to happen as I was always told it would be hard for me to concieve. Well on our third month I found out I was pregnant. I had an awefull pregnancy but it ended well and the baby was healthy just really early. It has been about a year since my son was born and I am still breast feeding. I started my periods back again earlier this year and was put on birth control immediately. Last month I missed the first pill and ended up getting my period a week early. Now this month I took it when I was supposed to and my period is now 8 days late. I have taken many tests and am getting all negatives. I have never been this far off before! Is there any chance I could be pregnant? I am scared to start my birth control again if there is any chance. Please help!!!

What can I do next?

If you are still breast feeding, there is a good chance that this is delaying your periods. Even when I was on birth control pills with breast feeding, I often didn't have my period.
Just like the others, I would give your dr a call.

A.--I would think it could be related to the breastfeeding. I know you said you periods came back earlier this year, but I was wondering if your cycles were completely back to normal. Even if they were, if the baby went through a stage were he was nursing more, it could throw off your cycle. HTH. Although, you could check with your doctor and see if they would want to do a blood test to find out for sure if you were pregnant.

Call your Dr and ask if you can stop in for a pregnancy test. They should be able to help you.

With having the Endo... you could just be back on your missing many months again.....

I have a friend who Has 3 kids.. How she got them she does not know... SHe said it was hard to get PG when you did not know when to do it!!!

But Your best bet is to call dr and go in and get blood work.. IF you are PG... they may want you on some Vits and stuff!!!! and if not.. they will want you to start the BCP's again.....

But It is hard to say... With Endo... It is very hard to say just cuz you are late...

I know it maybe not what you want to hear... but Go see a dr and see for sure..

Good luck

You should go to your doctor and get a test. They should be able to get you in quickly just for a test.

I have severe endometriosis and had nothing but problems with the pill. I was on them for 5 years but I had monthly periods. I would suggest changing your pills to the monthly kind so you can keep track easier. I've heard from several people that the Seasonal brand or similar pills (that only allow 4 periods) are never consistent. Personally I love the Nuvo Ring. I was on it for about two years and my periods were like clockwork. And it is a very low dose of hormones compared to the pill and I felt so much better once I got on it. I think the only way you can verify if your pregnant is to get a blood test from your doctor. But I highly recommend getting off the pills or at least do the ones that allow you to have a monthly cycle.

Definitely get in with your doctor. There are many things that could cause this. When I was late and took a pregnancy test (while on the pill) it showed up neg. I have cysts on my ovaries which always through my period off a little anyway and gave me cramps that were just horrible. A few weeks after the pregnancy test I was in enormous pain and had my "period". By the time I decided to go to the ER (this was over the weekend). I had had a tubal, so I lost the baby and a tube. This was very devastating to me. It is just not worth the chance... and if you were to have a tubal pregnancy it is highly unlikely your hormones would be affected enough to test pos. Good luck.
