Costume Help! - Norwich,CT

For Halloween I decided I wanted to be a scarecrow. I am using just a plaid shirt (but it's a favorite of mine and properly fits my pregnant belly) straw hat, and makeup. But I wanted to try and be a bit more crafty by adding a pumpkin to my bump area and maybe a crow or two to my shoulders. Is there a way to make them removable so I don't mess up my shirt?

What can I do next?

If you want to look like a scarecrow holding a pumpkin--depends on how far along you are maybe--get some orange fabric/felt and make a pumpkin. Then cut it out and attach to your shirt with small stitches or use pins. Then you can just cut the stitches to take it off. No changes to your shirt. How big the fabric is depends on how big your belly is.

I saw birds with clips on the bottom at Hobby Lobby once. Or attach a safety pin?

All other suggestions great but you could also use a stapler for paper and staple some straw/hay around the wrists and ankles of the clothes, use tiny staples and then just remove when done. After you wash the garments you will not see the tiny holes. Happy Halloween!!

You could hand sew them on to tack into place and then cut the thread to remove them. I've done that with a couple costumes and had good results.

Put some wire through the pumpkin (top and bottom) and then twist around the buttons. And don't forget to add some straw to your neck, wrists and ankles!! Have fun!

Sew on some velcro on your shirt. Big stitches and you can take the stitches out of your shirt later.
