every time it seems like when my daughter eats corn her bms become unformed and very mucusy (to much info i know sorry). im not sure if this would be considered an allergy sign or if its just because the corn is cleaning her out. i need insight from moms/dads who have kids with a corn allergy please.

also this is the only thing that happens with her. no hives, breathing issues etc and its only with cornel corn not chips or anything like that (that i have noticed)

It sounds like an allergy to me. My daughter is allergic to corn and unfortunately, I was not as "in-tune" and needed an allergist to tell me.

To begin with, corn is a difficult food to digest. However, my daughter tested positive with an allergy to it and it sounds like you daughter is too.

Once I pulled my daughter off of the corn, she was much better. Label reading is important because you will find corn in nearly every cereal found in your common grocery store and as well in so many of our foods in different forms. You will probably find it easier to shop in whole foods or trader joe's for certain items.

YES! At this point, it might just be a food sensitivity, rather than a true allergy, but if you can get it out of your diet, then she has a chance for her immune system to not become oversensitized and turn into an actual allergy...which will make your life and her life very hard watching every single piece of food.

Remember that maltodextrin is corn-based....pretty much any sugar that isn't cane sugar ro agave or honey. DON'T do the sugar substitutes like Splenda either. Google all of the foods/sweeteners than contain corn.

Also, there was a research study that showed mercury levels in corn. Make me wonder.

Corn is a common allergen, which is too bad because it is in everything. I personally follow the Eat Right For Your Bloodtype philosophy and corn is an "avoid" food for at least one bloodtype (O, like me). Your daughter's body is definitely talking to you.

There are a few reasons why your daughter may be reacting when she eats corn. One may be that her liver is releasing more bile in regards to the fiber being processed in her stomach. She may not be chewing it up well enough to process it and therefore requires more bile release to aid in digestion. At two years old she may not be ready for the corn. I would actually hold off on allowing her to eat anymore for the time being and allow her to gain some maturity to her stomach. If you are putting butter or margarine on it, this may also be an issue for her.

I grew up with a corn allergy and my pediatrician stated that my system could not handle it as well to process. I lived on a farm, with a couple of acres of garden growing every year. I hope this helps.
