Oh yeah! I call mine a little parrot! I have to watch myself because I have a tendency to be sarcastic and I have noticed that he really likes to mimic the sarcasm!
Some of my favs:
"Move out of the way car!"
"Let's see what we've got here..."
"I need some privacy!" (bathroom)
"I want chicken nuggets, french fries, chocolate milk, and apples. Oh, and a large diet for Mommy!"

And THAT is why we need to be so very aware of everything that we say and do....our little ones are like sponges....they soak up everything around them and so it is up to us to make sure what they are absorbing is the RIGHT stuff!!!
Aren't children wonderful???

ARRGGHH

My (childless) brother made a comment, a joke, in the presense of my 2 year old son.

"Barney Sucks".

So naturally the 2 year old toddled around for WEEKS getting a rise out of complete strangers suggesting "Barney Sucks", followed by a little giggle.

:(

yep, at the drive thru & in a hurry, I said "order your food & go already, Lady!" Now every blessed time we go there, I hear it from my four year old son and he says it the same way I did that day. i am choosing to ignore & hope he forgets it soon....LOL =~P

My 4 year old picks up on the worst possible things to repeat. I've really had to watch myself in the car. I called a driver an idiot and that was my son's new favorite word for weeks! I made the mistake of telling him that it was annoying when he tried to boss people around. So now every time I tell him something to do, he tells me how annoying that is. Which is annoying in and of itself! You just can't win! :)

oh lordie..i think they all do it. have you ever seen that show "the middle" with the little kid that whispers to himself? my son does that! he will hear something on tv, or i will say something, and i will hear him whisper it to himself...then later he will use it. it's like he's trying it out. my mom thinks it's hysterical....*sigh*...

also, one time in a fit of frustration, i said, "oh i HATE the rain!!" now i am a mom that doesn't like to hear my four year old say "hate" about ANYthing, so when he repeated it, i told him, "well honey, it's not a very nice thing for us to say - we shouldn't hate the rain because god sends it to water the flowers and the grass and the trees..." i gave him the whole spiel. so now when he comes up with something, he'll ask, "mom, is it okay to hate X?" mostly the only one we've come up with that it was okay, was Darth Vader. but then he saw the last (old) star wars movie where we find out he's Luke's dad, so my clever son has figured out that you can't really hate Darth Vader either. he was a little bit nice...

sorry, got a little off topic lol...

LOL!!! yes, this happens to me with my four kids... most recently, though a friend of mine's three year old daughter said to her mom: "stop looking at me like I'm a child!"
