I don't know the hospitals in your area. I delivered with a midwife in northern NJ. If possible look for a hospital with a high level NICU. I ended up having my babies transferred to a different hospital because the other hospital NICU was better (St. Joseph's in Patterson). Being stuck at a different hospital from the baby is an unnecessary hassle if you can avoid it. But it is tricky because it isn't easy for midwives in NJ because of the high insurance rates.
