My husband bought me a very expensive set of pots and pans. He says bc he wants them to last me a long time. I am not happy with the price and i want to return them. My question is, where can i buy a good set of pots and pans that are good quality and will last me. Not so expensive though. To tell you the truth I'm happy with paula dean set from walmart, but he says no.Where did you buy your cook wear and is it any good?

What can I do next?

We bought Royal Prestige - it used to be called Miracle Maid - it has a 50 year warranty on it and I've taken advantage of it several times!!! It was expensive - $1500 - but worth EVERY penny!!

My parents bought it when it was Miracle Maid and they too have used the warranty - NO COMPLAINTS HERE!!!

Sometimes spending good money on cookware is worth it!! Sometimes not! But I love my Miracle Maid (aka Royal Prestige!)

I recently started replacing my original cookware and have found great Wolfgang Puck pieces at Tuesday Morning.
I'm trying to steer away from any aluminum and teflon because of health issues. My mother in law swears by her All-Clad, which is pretty pricy, but it is great quality!

But I agree with Lucky, Keep it! If your husband didn't have an issue with the $, you will be thankful later.

Don't remember where I bought it but it's Revere...nothing too fancy but it's fine.
I find that to be a very odd gift and also find it odd that he wouldn't assume you'd like to choose your own cook wear.

My set is from Wal Mart and I love it. It is a stainless set of Tramontina and I've had it for a few years now. When I was "in the market" I knew I wanted stainless (I hate the non-stick coated pans), I wanted clear glass lids, and I wanted handles that had silicon coating on them. This set had all of those, and the price tag was great. You can buy different combinations from different retailers, not just Wal Mart, but since it was on my Christmas list I wanted the inexpensive set from Wal Mart and my in-laws bought it for me.

I have the Paula Deen cookware and love it. I've used it every day for 3 years. However, any tephlon pans are going to have a shorter life span thatn stainless steele or copper. The coating on mine is starting to show wear. I have bought pieces of Calphalon cookware at Ross for great prices. I recently bought a great big heavy deep "chicken fryer" frying pan with a lid for $30. I believe that sucker will last the rest of my life! I do it a piece at a time because the set would be astronomical.

Keep in mind that you get what you pay for. You have a hubby who is giving you a quality set, you didn't say what kind, but take it and be appreciative!!!

I have the higher end All-Clad Stainless and I LOVE it. I did pay a hefty price but it is worth it. I bought a 10 piece set at Dillards and then I've added pieces I thought would also be useful. When I bought mine, the smallest pan was about $120. however, it is SO worth it.

Don't go cheap.... you'll spend more in the long run by replacing the cheap stuff when it wears out.

You can buy a very nice set of hard anodized cookware at Costco for less than $170.00. They are non stick and every bit as nice as the Calphalon and other name brands of this type. I have been married 41 years and during that time bought a very good set of cookware. You know what? I finally gave it away because there were new kinds of cookware out there that were easier to take care of. You don't need to have the same set of cookware for the rest of your life. Things change and sometimes even improve.

We got ours from Bed Bath and Beyond. My husband said the same thing that he wanted it to last. My parents just bought a set from walmart, not sure on the brand but three months later, she wishes she hadn't wasted her money. Mine is stainless steel Calphalon, was bought three years ago and I still love it.

A long time ago I bought Royal Prestige (I believe it's made out titanium - very strong and is based on a healthy cooking system where you don't have to add lots of butter or oil) cookware for that very reason - it was very expensive, but so worth it. I've had it for over 10 years now and still love it. When my husband and I married, he had the nice Calphalon pots and pans (also expensive but so worth it). We kept both sets because they're such great quality and use them all. I second and third what many other have said here - keep it, enjoy it - the cheaper stuff will cost you more in the long run.
