Pediatric Dentist vs Family Dentist. Any opinions? My twin boys are 3 and seem to do ok with new experiences, but this one worries me..I guess because I hate the dentist. Does anyone know a good one in the Pawtucket-RI, Attleboro-MA area?

What can I do next?

Hi K., I take my daughter to Dr. Adriano at Drs. Nichols & Ogata on Newport Ave. in Pawtucket. My husband goes to Dr. Ogata and I used to but somehow got bumped to Dr. A. It worked out well though because even though she is not technically a pedi dentist, she is very good with the kids. She's part time and I believe she is only there Mondays and Tuesdays. If you look at rhodeisland.babyzone.com there are pedi listings for doctors and dentists.

I am new to the Attleboro area, but I have found a dentist that even my squeamish (sp?) 6 & 3 year old LOVE!! His name is Hikmat Hannawi, address is 11 Emory Street (near Sturdy Hospital) Phone is ###-###-####. He speaks very clear English, very gentle, and has a way with kids that puts them at ease and ready to open up and say "aah".. Just my two cents! Good Luck!!

Hi K.,

I took my son to Dr. George at Aspen Dental in Attleboro for his first dental appointment on Tuesday. Dr. George is not a pediatric dentist but had alot of patience with him. The downside, I found is they do the x-rays one day and have to make another appointment for a cleaning. As a working mother, taking time off for 2 days can be difficult. I also felt the set up was like a dental factory. But Dr. George and the assistant were very nice and the one thing that he got out of it was not to be afraid of the dentist. We'll see if that changes after the cleaning....

My best advice, when calling a regular dentist (I found it hard to find a pediatric dentist), stress that it's your childs first visit and ask if there is someone in the office that works well with children.
