I agree with the majority, a vasectomy is less invasive and quick. My husband did it on a friday and was back to work on monday.

I would highly recommend your husband have a vasectomy. I've had a tubal for 4 years and it's horrible. I know several women who have problems after having it done. I wish I had researched better, becuase now I'm in the process of saving $6,000 to have it undone. It's a hormonal thing for women and not for men.

I have read also, that in women having a tubal can lead to risk of certain cancers, early onset of alzheimers and early menopause.

I can't even go into all the things that are wrong with me that werent' wrong before. Before you make a decision, reasearch it. Don't rely on the Dr's to tell you this, they WONT!

Vasectomy, if your hubby will go for it. It's alot cheaper & less physically tolling. For you to have a tubal, it's surgery. Often times they will require an overnight stay in the hospital. You'll have hospital O.R. expenses & room fees if applicable, on top of your O.B. Gyn's surgical fees. I recently had a tubal, but only agreed to it because i had to my right ovary removed due to a cancer scare. I said "Well, while you're in there, might as well tie off the left!". I have 4 kids, the youngest being 2 1/2, so i'm done with babies. :) But, from experience, the tubal was no fun. Scar, cut & sore stomach muscles, recovery time, EXPENSE! If your hubby isn't a scaredy cat, tell him to man up & do the vasectomy!

Have your husband do it......unless you are pregnant.....then when the baby is done get it done. I know many men who had a vasectomy.....they were fine, just a couple of days of discomfort and no lifting and they were fine. Plus being a mom, you have kids to take care of.....Dad has a much easier time of lying around.
Good luck on your decision.

Personally I don't think it makes a difference if you both don't want more children and you have no plans to seperate.
After my first child I considered Tubal Ligation because we both knew that we were probably done. However, I never got around to it. My husband finally had the vasectomy last year. It went well and he had no problems. I have to admit that even though we know our days of having children are over every once in a while I just a little sad. but I get over it really fast. I guess its just the finality of it all.

Vasectomy. It's easier - outpatient. It's much less risk... I would go that route unless YOU want your tubes tied.

Vasectomy. It's only fair if you have to carry and birth the children. ;)

vasectomy is more effective & less invasive .....it's a 20-30 min process & he gets to sit for the entire weekend with a remote in one hand & an ice pack in the other

Vasectomy! My husband just had one in January. It took maybe 30 min and he was dine! If you have your tubes tied you have to be out under. My husband said that it was less pain than a tooth filing.

Going to agree with everyone else - vasectomy.

There was a question about it recently with a woman whose husband refused to have a vasectomy after their 5th child. Hadn't her poor body been through enough just bearing those kids?

Vasectomy is less invasive, less expensive and has a lower risk of complications during surgery and lasting side effects.

Here's my thought. I had two c-sections, so I had my tubes tied after the second one while they were in there anyway. But if I hadn't, I would have insisted on a vasectomy. I have had enough pain, poking and prodding. A woman goes through a lot. And tubal ligations are much more invasive then vasectomys. I know several men who've had vasectomys anyway and the all said it wasn't that bad. They were fine within a week. And God forbid I got pregnant again, he'd get one.

if you are pregnant tubal they can do it while they are there. my tubal didn't put me down but a vasectomy but this was years ago is down for 7 days with ice. My tubal wasn't done at time of birth I was in and out the same day and no after effects. I was able to do pretty much anything.

The vasectomy will be a less invasive procedure.
