I currently have a gravel driveway and would really love to have a concrete driveway but have no idea how much it will cost or even how to go about getting a price from someone. I have four kids and they would love to be able to ride their bikes more but it is not possible on the gravel. I appreciate any help you guys can give me on this. Thanks.

What can I do next?

My former FIL owns a concrete business and is highly recommended. The business is Gil's Concrete and he does it out of his home, his phone number is ###-###-####. He does work all over the Northern Kentucky and Greater Cincy area. He's competitively priced and very professional. Hope this helps!

I had my driveway paved last summer, we went with asphalt because it is ended up being $2000 less, concrete was going to run us $5000. It is a double drive, and part of the project was removal of a deteriorating concrete stoop. Get several estimates, make sure you are clear on the level you want (do you want it flush with surrounding ground or laid on top), the size you want and the time frame you expect the work to be completed. Do not pay in full upfront, a small % is acceptable to begin a job. Pay when work is complete.

Hello N.. Just wanted to let you know there is a website called ServiceMagic.com that can help you with finding a reputable contractor in your area. It's a good website, I've used them 2x. They will give you a list of everyone in your area to get a quote. Good luck, I hope everything works out for you.

As a ballpark, if you want to get an idea, I think simple concrete is about $4 a square foot. More if you want some kind of design, etc. That may be on the cheap side now (been a few years since I got an estimate) but at least should let you know what you might be dealing with. That means for a driveway that's 20 feet wide (standard 2 car garage) and 30 feet long (the shortest you'd probably encounter), it would be about $2400. Again, this could be old news or regional, but I hope it helps!

Hi,

I'm not sure what something like this runs, but my advice would be to check the local paper, or yellow pages for concrete companies. As a referral, an old friend of mine works for his family owned concrete company. They've been around for years and are very good. Their name is Mid-State Concrete and they are located in westerville and are listed.

expensive!!!! concrete is not cheap!!

we had our little patio done, it is maybe 8'x13' if that and it cost $800!!! and that was done by a friend! not to mention that was like 3 years ago.

my friends husband is a mason, and he isn't even doing their front porch right now, because of the cost of it! and he can probably get it cheaper cause of his business, than us "normal" people.

good luck!!

I just had a concrete driveway put in last year. I hired a friend's husband who has a plumbing company that also does concrete work. I know he gives free estimates, and he ended up being quite a bit less expensive than the other contractors that I had come out and look. My driveway looks beautiful, the kids enjoy playing on it and my car doesn't get as dirty anymore. If your in the Greater Cincinnati area his name is Steve w/ K&P and his number is ###-###-####. Good Luck and I hope this helps.

We just had our driveway replaced by Risaliti & Sons. Their phone number is ###-###-####. Just leave a call back number and they will get back with you to come do an estimate. We had our old driveway, sidewalk, and stoop ripped out and new ones poured by them and an additional parking area added as well as our curb and gutter replaced for $4,700.

Hi.
We did our driveway a few years ago and so far we really like it. For a 520 sq ft. driveway, it cost us $2600. That included removing the existing blacktop and hauling it away. We used Jeff Chesser (cell) ###-###-#### if you are in the Columbus area. Most places will probably come out for a free estimate. Good luck!
