Computer Repair

Hello Moms,
has anyone out there used a computer repair service that they can recommend?
I am in need of having my computer repair (VIRUS) but we are on a very tight budget, and I need a reliable company. A friend of mine suggested taking it to BEST BUY, but I am afraid they might be too costly. I will use them as a last resort.

What can I do next?

Don't take it to Best Buy. Half the time, they don't really know what they're doing. Honestly. My husband has repaired their repairs. I'm sure there are some good guys there, but they've done a lot more work than necessary on some of our friends' computers and it cost them a lot of money.

My husband works on computers as a hobby. He's certified and would like to get a job doing it some time, but he'd be willing to help you out. He's had a lot of experience dealing with viruses. He keeps my business going... he's my IT guy. :-) Respond directly to me if you're interested and we'll set something up.

Jen

Hi J.,

My husband, Nathan, and one of his coworkers, Steve, have a computer repair/support business they do on the side. You can email Steve Lingis at ____@____.com

Both work in IT for Continental (not the airlines), and have a wide range of knowledge and experience.

I hope you are able to get your computer problems resolved soon!

Hi J.,

When our computer crashed I used an independant named Keefe Andrews. He came out to our house and basically redid our whole computer/hard drive - for almost less than Dell wanted to charge me for phone support! His website is new.keefepc.com. The only downside is it may take a few days depending on how busy he is. Good luck!

There is a company in Castle Hills right off of 410/access road right before Jackson Keller called PC Outlet. They have reasonably priced EVERYTHING and were very informative. From what I understood they will start at 40.00 and go up based on the work needed and any parts needed.

we just went there to purchase a router...usually costs approximately 45 to 85 bucks...for 19 bucks. Very much pleased with them.

They actually have 2 locations:

PC outlet
2206 NW Loop 410
SA 78230
###-###-####

and

pc outlet
423 SW military
SA 78221
###-###-####

hope this helps out.
