Hi Moms. I need some help in addressing one of my daughter's First Holy Communion invitations. My husband's best friend cares for and lives with his mother. So for our events, they always receive one invitation that is addressed to both of them. The best friend, though, now has a girlfriend. The relationship is still fairly new...probably about 6 months. We'd like to invite the girlfriend to the Mass and the celebration after as well. How do we address an invitation to her? Should we include her name on the invitation with the friend and his mother? Or should she get her own? She doesn't live with them, but they are a couple. Thoughts?

What can I do next?

I would do 2 invitations. Either boy and girlfriend on one and mom on a separate one. Or, mom and son on one and a separate one to girlfriend mailed to her home.

Let him know that she is invited and ask him if she would want her own invite so she had the time and etc.

Congratulations on your daughter's communion. What a special time.
I would address the invitation to "friends name & Guest" on the first line and the mother's name on the second line. They will understand your meaning that the girlfriend is also welcomed to attend.

Good luck.
