V.M.
No idea what the product was but the mom in an SUV is driving a little PIggy all the way home and he is holding a pinwheel Squealing. My kidslove to imitate the squeal!!!
2 that drive me nuts are the lip-syncing to the "national american university" song and the duplo block commercial that has the perfectly behaved young siblings laughing and playing blocks. Every time I see it I want to scream "That's not how kids play with blocks!" They would really be fighting over them and they'd be all over the place. Then, a mom would come in and step on one and yell. Lol. At least that's how it is in my house. :)
So, what commercials drive you insane?
No idea what the product was but the mom in an SUV is driving a little PIggy all the way home and he is holding a pinwheel Squealing. My kidslove to imitate the squeal!!!
Aflac- that weird pigeon saying "I help pay the doctor, ain't that enough for you". It gets stuck in my head!!
Also the creepy Kia rats. Yikes.
I HATED the creepy rat Quizno ones! Blegh. Not so fun of the Hardee's cheese one.
I do like the Allstate Mayhem ones! They make me laugh. Especially the GPS one. :)
The halloween one where the girl takes a bunch of candy after she's been told to just take one - her reason is she can't read (greedy B - LOL).
There's a stupid radio commercial that talks about ALL the HUGE time you're wasting shaving your legs when you could just pay to have it lasered off. So 1/2 hour a week - 1 day a year? SO much time wasted!
TMI ALERT:
And the Summers Eve Powerful Vagina thing - really? Be nice to your vajayjay cause it rules the world? I DON'T think Cleopatra got powerful because of her lower parts. It was her brain that did it - it was the MEN's lower parts that might have made it a little easier.
Also any commercial about feminine odor - I'm 43 years old and have never come across anyone anywhere with a noticeable odor - and I worked in NYC and used public transportation! LOL!
Ohhh, the awful Honda Pilot commercial. They are on a road trip and everyone starts making noises with their mouths to a made up tune.
I can't stand the corny jewelry commercial where the couple is in a cabin and it is stormy outside.
There is also a radio commercial for a law firm in Dallas that represents men in divorce court. It just bugs me every time I hear it. :(
I love the Allstate mayhem commercials esp. the one when he is riding on the lawn mower.
I also like the Pass It On commercials.
Kay jewelry, and jared' jewelry. he went to jared. Hate them, with a passion
GEICO lizard. HATE it
Ugh I watch the Daily Show and Comedy Central has the WORST commercials ever. The one I hate the most currently is the Keystone beer "Keith Stone" commercials. It just kills me that someone hired an ad agency, the agency tossed around a bunch of ideas, built story boards, presented them to the beer company and a GROUP OF PEOPLE chose these and paid good money for them!!
I hate the commercial where the husband tells the wife he just signed up for a cell phone program, like texting. She is watering plants in a green house and tells him he shouldn't have spent all that money without asking her. She goes on to say her mom was right, she should have married Joe Clark (or what ever his name is). Then the husband tells her the plan was free. She doesn't apologize or anything. She just stares and looks dumb.
One of my favorite commercials is the Keebler commercials where two sisters come home from school and the older one gives the younger sister the last cookie. While she is looking away the Keebler elf puts another cookie in the tray and hides so he can't be seen. The first time I saw that I rewound the commercial to see if I really saw what I thought I saw. ((GOOD FOR YOU KEEBLER ! ! !)
Good luck to you and yours.
There is one I hear on the radio when I take my oldest to preschool. It goes something like: You don't want to be the guy who goes home early because he has to go to work in the morning. You don't want to miss out on the best night. If you go home you won't buy everyone in the bar a Budweiser and we all love that guy! You want to be the guy strangers high-five on the street..."
Every time I hear it I think does that sh**poke advertising strategy actually work on a fully grown man? I could see it *maybe* working on an 18 year old but they can't buy beer. I mean seriously....be cool...buy everyone a beer so you can get a high five? Bleck.
Also, there is a Purex commercial (I don't see if often anymore) in which they basically say get this laundry detergent and fabric softener all in one product because it is the only way your husband will ever be able to figure out how to do laundry. I don't know...most men I know can rather easily pour laundry detergent and throw in a dryer sheet. Bleck again.
Now you've got me started...there is also a Mini-Wheats commercial that I hate. I think it is for fruit in the middle Mini-Wheats or berry or something. Anyway, the regular MW is drooling over the fruit in the middle MW and is all like "well, helllloooo there...". They have sexualized breakfast cereal. BLECK.
I'm not fond of the Geico Gecko, whatever cell phone company has the girl wearing pink in every ad, local car lot ones with lots of screaming and big letters and flashing phone numbers, the little quizno rat, etc.
Five - Five - Five dollar Foot Long!
Sing it with me... now it's stuck in your head too.
I hate any Christmas commercials before Thanksgiving. I reeeeaaallly hate the new one for tj maxx or something like that where it starts out with this girl's voice singing at such a high pitch it's like she is sqealing, and there are groups of people dancing around singing about shopping cheaper than the mall. They look like glee wanna-be's and they really suck at it, lol! It's uncomfortable to watch and the sound of that girl screech-singing makes me ILL!
Yep, I hate 'em all, too. We DVR everything, as well. We're an advertisers worst nightmare, I guess :)
Added: actually, I love the Kia hamster commercials where they're rocking out! hilarious!
"Honey, can you toss me a roll?" .....I want to toss him a brick.
I think it would be easier to state what commercials don't drive me nuts. I swear marketing ruined what was left of my tolerance for commercials. When you can look at them and see who they are targeting and how, you are either offended or offended for others.
Then there are some that are like nails on a chalkboard. Like this one for party pizzas I hear on the radio. I think it is supposed to be funny, not sure, I just scream at the radio and turn it off. Don't know how other people are but a lot of times I don't realize there are commercials on the radio until an annoying one comes on, then I flip over to the iPod. :(
Jack in the Box, "Ride that spicy chicken!"
Ack!!
To Sfrom TX: The tune in the Honda Pilot commercial isn't made up. It's Crazy Train by Ozzy Osbourne. Doesn't mean you'll like it any better, but it is a real song :)
I always try to dvr programs I like so I can FF through commercials. I hate them all! Except for the baby with an investment portfolio. I don't have a clue what company he is advertising for though.
One I did see that was really terrible was for Six Flags. One other had someone talking about how great his/her bank was. At the end they would do a nervous giggle--like that was supposed to make us think they weren't actors!
There is a local car dealership that advertises on the radio. The owner does his own commercials (speaks, not a hired spokesperson or voice actor or something)... and his voice is nails on a chalkboard for me. Then, to top it off, it is on EVERY commercial cycle. And for all of 2010 he went on and on and on and on and on about "I told you by the end of the year gas prices were goin' to hit 5 (he pronounces it "figh") dollahs a gallon.... " Ugh. Do you really think I need to be reminded? And can you NOT speak properly? Ever?
All of them!! That's why I <3 my DVR. :)
On TV, the GEICO ones irritate me, I hate that they gave the lizard a foreign accent. I really hate the ones on the radio where someone calls a pizza store and asks for $1.50 worth of pizza. REALLY? And then push and push and push and then say "well, I'll just get a Totino's". Also, I'm really over the Central Market ones that start out with "Are you really into cheese? I mean really, really into cheese?" (or whatever the push is for the week - beer, fruit, breads, etc) - and they have all these cheesy puns using the different names of cheeses. I'm done with those....
The Maaco commercial where people make annoying car noises.
Also, any ad where a woman gets gushy about a cleaning product.
Your baby can read. This is 'Graham, one minute he is reading, the next minute he is shooting hoops, he is so well rounded"
That just gets my goat for some reason.
The idiodic hamster KIA ones. It amazes me what people are paid to think up.
um yeah...i was just about to say that commercial...national american university.....ugh!..I HATE IT. It makes it worse when my 3 year old loves it and dances to it, lol.....i dont like any of those people..the guy at the end is making a face that just makes me angry! :))
Any overdone commercials are aggravating.....like the att one where the family all wants to read the girls diary, funny the first time but give me a break. Now they are totally overplaying the other att one where the couplke is trying to figure out which kid they love the most.
I want to choke them,
The local WinKids commercial... The music sounds like someone just died and it's for a kids activity place. It drives me nuts! They play that on their website too... winkids.net. I so want to start a campaign to get it to STOP!
**** yes I'm pregnant and hormonal... :-P
I almost posted the same question last night! I hate all the insurance commercials especially Geico & Progressive. Car commercials, diaper commercials & election commercials are the worst.
One of my all time favorite commercials is the Oreo commercial with the kid eating Oreos and his dog is sitting beside him. The kid says, "Mom says chocolate isn't good for dogs but you can have my milk". Love it!!! I also like the Hershey's kisses ringing bell commercial they play during the holidays. :) I'm so thankful for TiVo so I don't have to watch many!
I can not stand the orajel commercials. They are so over the top that it drives me crazy lol. My kids throw the blocks at each other so I so understand
The luvs diaper commercial drives me nuts! But at the same time I love it!
Mine is a local radio ad for a local attorney. I literally turn the radio off when I hear it come on. I have been listening to the SAME jingle for 8 years and I hate it.
TV commercials ~ I mostly use the DVR, so I get to skip over them. But the Geico commercials irritate me.
