I think it's a great accomplishment and definitely worth celebrating! Congratulations! Sorry, no advice on where to have the party.
I will FINALLY be graduating in May from college at the ripe old age of 35. LOL. I have been told that I should have a graduation party, but I don't know if people will think that is weird at my age. Any thoughts?
If I decide to have one--- I also need ideas for location in the DFW area. I really don't want to do it my house!
Thanks!!

YES! A graduation party has nothing to do with age. You graduated, people will want to celebrate with you. Congratulations!
I graduated last May...with a little 2 year degree...that took me, start to finish, 5 years to complete. I almost never did a summer semester..and took several semesters off when my beloved Mother died in the middle of it all.
But I graduated a few weeks before I turned 41....and did so with a perfect 4.0 GPA! I run my own home childcare (60 hours a week) have a teenager, a husband and home...lost my mother, and accomplished all of that. Heck yes, I was having a party! I had a big backyard party planned. Then it rained, so the party came inside my tiny house. Oh well...we still had fun!
We did a taco bar...pretty easy and inexpensive. I didn't (nor my hubby) have to man a grill or other thing that took us away from the guests. Everything was in bowls and crock pots and everyone LOVED it! Plus a GIANT cake. We love Sams Club for all that bulk stuff!
CELEBRATE your accomplishment! I think it means more when we are older and have more hurdles in our way to getting to that cap and gown!
CONGRATS!
Do it!
I suggest you pick a venue that is all ready part of your life, if possible. I think MANY people would be into helping you celebrate!
Absolutely have a party! A college degree is worth celebrating at any age. Congratulations!
Are you wanting to have the party at a restaurant (Joe T. Garcia's is great!) or some other type of venue?
DO it! Go to a fun restaurant. We had a party at Humperdink's a few years ago. It's a brewery/restaurant. It has huge party rooms, with pool tables and such. And my reunion was at Fox and Hound. Anyways, those are just some ideas if you want to go that route.
Do it, you've worked hard to get it and should celebrate your accomplishment.
Congrats!
Certainly, college graduation (at any age) is worth celebrating. I'm sure it won't be the same as a grad party of the typical college student (age 21) but celebrate none the less.
I would suggest a big cookout
You are never too old!!! Congratulations for earning your degree...You deserve the party....If you don't want it at your house that's fine...Have fun. Sorry i don't live in your area.
CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!
It is soooo much harder to finish school later rather than right after high school. Throw a big party and celebrate.
Have one!!!! If anything, graduating at 35 is a heck of a lot harder than graduating at 21 :-) My husband will be 32 when he graduates and I'm planning on throwing him a graduation party. The fact that he will be graduating while working a full time job and with two kids at home is a huge accomplishment....I'm sure it's the same way for you.
Congrats!
you should definitly have a party. jsut gather your friends and send an invite that says hey come celebrate with me. won't be the same as a previous poster said but hey you deserve the congrats.
Congratulations!
I am not familiar enough with DFW to suggest a location, but I say go for it!
My mom finally graduated at 50+. She had a great party. She held it on a Sunday afternoon at a local Restaurant / Bar and they offered her a great deal. They did heavy hors d'oeuvres and she picked out beer, wine and iced tea, and people came and went for about 2 or 3 hours.. They also had a cash bar. It did not cost that much. Just remember to use evite as well as a paper invite. You will get more responses.
I think it's an awesome idea. You deserve to celebrate your accomplishment!
My BIL had one at 35. He was very proud of his accomplishment and so was my sister. Have one!
Heck ya you should!!! Its an accomplishment at any age and seems like it should get more recognition past 'college years' Shoot, my hats off to ya!!! Do it at your house, no problem with that
I plan on having a party for my husband when he graduates at 39. You should be proud of yourself and celebrate. Places like Buca di Beppo and Maggianos are great because it's family style food. I'm not sure about DFW, but when I was in Maryland and Virginia, area golf and country clubs had reasonable room rental fees, and check local restaurants. Most have private rooms. I went to a Christmas party at Gather in McKinney and it was very nice. I don't know prices, but the food was great and the location was beautiful. I remember that the host brought in his own alcohol though, which can save a ton of money as opposed to getting it supplied.
