Hello Everyone,
I just noticed today that my four year old daughter has her first cold sore. Do you have and suggestions on how to treat it? I prefer to use something natural.
Thank You

Hi, I don't have your answer. I have never had my child get a coldsore. but I tried to research an answer and came up with this:
caution: Urge your child to avoid touching his eyes when he has a cold sore. HSV-1 can cause ocular herpes, a serious eye infection. If your child develops a painful sore on his eyelid or the surface of his eye, schedule a prompt appointment with his pediatrician: Your child may need antiviral drugs to keep the infection from scarring his cornea. In rare cases, ocular herpes can weaken vision and even cause blindness.
Cold sores are a herpes complex virus, so there's little you can do to treat it, but there are products that help abbreviate the length of the virus.
Herpecin L is a good product (I'd urge you to ask the pediatrician/pharmacist if it's OK to use on a 4 year-old). Carmex dries out the cold sore, but again, I'd check first.
Your pharmacist should be a good place to start and to find out of there's anything naturally based that will help shorten the duration of the cold sore.
I do everything holistic and natural wouldn't do it any other way, tea tree oil will help applied every couple hours
