Check out L-Lysine. It's an amino acid. I do not know if it's contraindicated during pregnancy so do some research first.:)

If the sore is on the outside of your mouth then it is a cold sore, and I'd start by putting Ice on it. Take an ice cube out of the freezer and hold it on there as long as you can. Im not sure exactly why it works, maybe some one else could explain that, but it does. In the past I've held Ice on them as long as I can, and then a few times a day I've put Listerin mouth wash on a Q-tip and help it on there for a few seconds, helps to dry it out.
If the sore is on the inside of your mouth, then it's a canker sore, and I'd suggested making a paste from baking soda and packing it on the sore until it desolves.

L-Lysine is a natural remedy but not recommended for pregnant women because A) there isn't enough info and B) it has shown adverse reactions in animal embryos (spelling). Valtrex is rated B where L-Lysine is a C. So, you are actually better off taking Valtrex for your coldsore. Depending on what your Dr. recommends you only have to take it twice a day for about 4-5 days. My neighbor who is on her 3rd pregnancy has taken Valtrex throughout all three.
Talk to you Dr.

If it's inside your mouth, try yogurt. Let the yogurt sit on the sore for a few seconds. The acidophilus helps in healing the sore. I had cold sores for years, and it always worked!
