Hi Sarah! I agree with the previous poster. It sounds just like Reynaud's Phenomena. My sister has it.
My daughter who is 1 always has cold hands and they turn red to purple. We will run them under warm water and after i dry them off there cold again. She also squatts alot. I was talking to my mom about it who is a nurse and she said squating alot can be connected to cardiac meaning she may not be getting enough oxygen or circulation to her hands. I still have a month before she goes back to her ped. If there is any suggestions please let me know. thanks.
She doesnt get out of breath easy and when she goes to her check ups the doctor always says her heart sounds good.
Thank You all i will.
So, I called the peditrician and he asked how long i noticed it and i told him about 2 months now. He told me not to worry and babys her age its normal and should go away when it starts to warm up. So, if it doesnt then im going to have him check into it. Thank you everybody for your comments.

I would call the doctor and let them know everything. They may not want you to wait for the normal check up. I have a friend who's son never showed any signs of heart issues until he started playing sports. Then he had problems that sent him to the ER. He is now under the care of a cardiologist and cannot play sports or any other overly active things, no running, jumping etc...
I would call the pediatrician and tell them about it.
I dont know anything about the squatting but I agree that the hands and feet being blue and cold is a sign of Raynauds disease. I have this too and it is harmless . Just means that her hands and feet dont get enough circulation. There is medication but my doc said not to use it unless / until you really have to. Hopefully your daughter will enjoy wearing gloves when its cold.
hello amana,,,, my daughter is also 1 with the same reaction idk whats to do. i also notice for like the last 3 to 4 moths shes been sweating alot. should i take her to the doc for this all this anyone with answers please help thank you????
Hi, I am a nurse also. I agree with your mom. I would not wait a month for the ped appointment. Call today and tell them that you need to see the dr. immediately. If they say that they don't have an appointment either insist or take her to a childrens ER and have her evaluated today. Let us know how she is doing.
I would call your pedi and tell them everything. Does she seem like she gets out of breath or tired easily? I'm a nurse as well (peds) and agree with your mom. Although it would be strange to me if she had a defect that hasn't been caught before she was born or within the year, it's always possible. Good luck and hoping for the best for you and your daughter!
call her doctor my daughter has this issue with her feet its heart realated get it checked out
Sounds like Reynauds Syndrome-I have it and yes it is the small capillaries constricting which restricts blood flow to the hands and feet and is a secondary condition caused by a number of underlying conditions
I see a Rheumatologist. They normally specialize in this condition and it is often misdiagnosed. Good luck :)
spend the money for an extra visit now. mom of 7 R. do her other visit next month.
