Cloth Diapers for Larger Toddlers?

I've been a content Bum Genius, Happy Heiny and Fuzzi Bunz user for the last year but my son who is nearly 18 months old is also 32 lbs and getting to the edge of use for many of his one size diapers. I do occasionally use prefolds but they don't hold enough pee for outings, trips and overnight for me to use them full-time.

I do prefer pockets but I have some fitteds (I just hate covering them up!)

Does anyone have any good suggestions that are also wallet friendly? I would love to get more FB XL but I really can't afford them right now! Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

What can I do next?

I like toddler-ease because it has 17 oz. absorbency and fits 35-35 lb toddler. My son is only 33 pounds and they fit him thanks to the adjustable leg and waist snaps.

They are worth the $ and you will be able to use them again with your baby on the way. Maybe you can find some used on diaperswappers.

V.,
DOUBLE diaper with a prefold [ if they fit] under your fav.pocket design.
yeah for you ... $$$$$$$$ yeah and cloth diapers ...
cotinue to teach your little ones about save $ and our lands.
I raised my children w/ cloth [ 1970's] they have to STILL make cloth for all SIZES ..[ if not ; I will be the mother of invention]
you can also try the 'unfolded' classic curtix [sp] diaper [ size of 2 t- towels] 100% cotton ... you can fold then on a bias , in half, in 1/4 , be original or ask a grammy over 57 years old for help !!!!![ if they still make them ] our generation had big babies too !!!!!!
ps= go baby butt naked after change'n a diaper .... babies love bare butts !
good luck
ps= spend the $ for 1 dozen of unfolded ... you will use them on this new baby too ! then use as eyeglass polishers !
a mom, a grammy

I make my own pockets and use wool covers...WAHM diapers are much cheaper than name brands :)

You can also look on DiaperSwappers (which is really NOT user-friendly, but you can find some good deals (if you can figure it out) lol).
There are also some good WAHM's on Etsy. I LOVE Rumparooz, but they're $$$$.....Oh! Also check out www.ClothDiaperClearance.com --my new favorite site! I think there are also some links on my site to some good sites that I'm too sleepy to remember right now-- www.ThingaMaSling.com so you can peek there if you want.

Good luck & congrats w/ the new baby coming!!!

www.greenmountaindiapers.com has toddler size prefold diapers. I bought one (when I thought my son was going to move into that size, but his growth slowed down. (He is almost 2 and only 30 lbs now.) These are much longer than the size below & wrap around better. They would fit nicely with a Bummis super whisper wrap large. If the absorbancy is not enough you can buy an insert/liner. I believe I bought mine at www.clothdiaperoutlet.com. They have various sizes & absorbancies, even an overnight one which is huge. I prefer the stay dri ones. One side is fleece, which you put against the babies skin & it keeps them feeling dry. I also like hemp, its more expensive, but thinner & more absorbant. Good luck.
