Pros are huge money savings (especially if you use the diapers on multiple children) better for the environment and in most cases better for your baby's bottom.
Cons are diapers are bulkier than disposables. Sometimes your washing routine takes a little bit of tweaking to perfect it.
We've used cloth diapers for over 3 years now and it is one of the best things we ever did. My husband is now a huge cloth advocate. Once you find which diapers you like you'll be so happy you switched.
Through May 31, 2010 bumGenius is offering a free All-In-One diaper (most like a disposable) if you purchase $10 worth of their items. You need a coupon for this promotion but www.DivaDiapers.com is giving away the coupons for free. Good luck to you in your switch. If you have any questions, I'd be happy to help you.
Pros - you can save money.
Cons - they are "bulky" by nature, it's the only way to make them absorbent enough, so it's hard to find baby clothes that will fit over them. And if you don't wash them properly they will repel the urine and "leak" out the sides. This happened to me 'cause i have hard water (well water) and didn't know I needed to soften the water and use a special detergent to prevent build-up.
Love using cloth diapers.. the diapers we liked were Kushies all in ones.. We bought ours over the internet on Amazon.com. they were pretty reasonable in price.. (I think about 10 dollars a piece) and really made it easy with the all in one function.. What kinda information do you need on using cloth diapers..
horray for cloth diapers! It's much easier than you expect it will be! Make sure to buy the Kushies disposable liners. This make poop clean up a snap. I have tried bumkins, kushies and bumgenius. The bumgenius were definitely my son's favorite (I prefer the price tag of Kushies) but they all WORK the same. check out cottonbabies.com - great information. Also, etsy sells some homemade cloth diapers. My friend purchased a few and they are exactly like my bumgenius only $11 per diaper. :)
Best of luck to you!
For the bumgenius coupons, you dont have to buy the magazine and clip the coupons if you order from kelly's closet. All the other sites require you to clip the coupon and mail it in.
