After two years of trying with no luck, my dr. put me on Clomid. Got pregnant after the first round. No complications.
I suspect that my doctor is going to put me on Clomid within the next month. Has anyone had any experience with Glomid, good or bad? How long did it take you to conceive with Clomid or did it help at all?
Thanks

I don't know if Clomid ,specifically, helped me, but I did 3 months of insemination, 2 with clomid and GOT PREGNANT!. It made me tired and more irritable, but that was manageable. I also did acupuncture...desperately trying to get prego. I 2nd the advice to closely monitor its use because yes your lining can thin and they only recommend you use it for a limited # of cycles because of that. Good luck! I have 2 toddlers now... it WILL happen for you, just try your best to be patient. *smiles!*
I took Clomid for one month, and I was pregnant on the first try with it. I didn't experience any side effects with hormones. Good luck!
Hi Mom! I was put on Clomid twice. I got pregnant with my 1st after my third cycle of Clomid. Two years later we started the Clomid again and didn't get pregnant after a year. I did get pregnant a month after I got off the Clomid so I'm thinking it somehow jump started my system and did help me conceive. Good luck to you. Relax and take it easy. You'll see your little one soon!
I was on clomid years ago for four months. My only symptom was hot flashes that kept me up at night. I did not get pregnant on Clomid and did not move on to injections. I did get pregnant about two months after stopping clomid without any treatment other than an herbal supplement. I am not sure why I finally got pregnant after two years of trying (age 32). I do, however, remember how hard it is to be trying to conceive and I send you very positive wishes.
I was on Clomid before I got pregnant with my first child. I was on it for about 6 months. While on it, I had to take my temperature everyday and chart it. Nothing happened while I was on it, but a month after I went off it I got pregnant. Best wishes in becoming pregnant.
Clomid made me CRAZY. Crying all the time - very moody. I was on it for 3 months before moving on to injectible meds. I did get pregnant after 10 months, but that ended in an ectopic pregnancy. I stopped all meds and went the acupuncture route. Was pg in 3 months with no drugs.
Good luck.
I took Clomid for two months under a fertility specialist. I would highly recommend seeing a fertility specialist verses your normal OB for Clomid, reason being I only took it for 2 months because it began to decrease the lining in my uterus. If I would not have been seeing a fertility doctor that was monitoring the lining, as well as the amount and size of follicles I was producing the Clomid would have been useless. If your lining is to thin you can fertilize eggs all day long but the wont stick so you will never get pregnant. I ended up having to switch to a different fertility drug that did not decrease the lining, but everyones body is different. Without close monitoring it could be a waste of time. (we saw Dr. Douglas in Plano)
We ended up having to move to injectibles and finally got pregnant after about 9 months of fertility help but I am currently expecting and will finally meet my little guy on the 21st of July =) I know how frustrating infertility can be, you will be in my prayers.
I took Clomid for about 3 months. It made me ovulate more eggs but made my eyes had problems with tracking and I never got pregnant from it.
I am ALL for acupuncture now to help with pregnancy.
actually, i conceived my daughter with clomid. it took a while, especially because i lost 40 pounds during the time i was on it...took me umm, on and off, about a year and a half. once i started really seriously working out tho, it was only about 4 months after that that i got pg. good luck to you! i'll keep you in my prayers!
we are ttc our second now and not sure what route we are going to go with our new dr.
I took Clomid 26 years ago and it only took 2 months for me to get pregnant after being on it. I had been trying for over a year to get pregnant so I was very pleased when I got pregnant with my beautiful baby boy who is now 25.
Good Luck!
I think overall it helps but always depends on timing. I agree with seeing a fertility specialist, though, because you never know how much more you will ovulate while on Clomid. I took Clomid for about 7 rounds with no success (ended up getting pregnant while on nothing), but my friend, who had more complications that led to difficulty getting pregnant (fibroids and then had them removed), got pregnant with TRIPLETS the first time on Clomid.
I took Clomid through my OB for 5 months with no luck...saw a fertility specialist and got pregnant one month later with a round of clomid and IUI...looking at my three week old now!
