HELP! We have a cat that occasionally has seizures. Well, she had one in my sons bed last night - when this happens, she sometimes loses control of her bladder. How do I get urine out of a mattress!?!?!??

When I wash my dogs bedding, I add a cup of vinegar to the water to get rid of odors. I bet if you put some in a spray bottle and sprayed the mattress when the vinegar evaporated it would take the smell with it. I found the pet bedding trick in a home remedy book I have. Vinegar is great for getting unwanted smells out of things. Good luck.

I had a small italian greyhound who peed on our mattress a few times...no more bedtime with us for her...:), but, i came across a solution of baking soda that works well. First, get out the excess urine with a paper towel or other cloth, then sprinkle the baking soda on top of the area where the urine was. Let it sit until it absorbs, then "brush" it off with an old toothbrush. Next, with new baking soda, make a paste with water and scrub that into the soiled area. Allow it to sit for at least 15 mintes, wipe up, then spray with some febreze! I also sprayed with Lysol to make sure it was truly CLEAN! Good luck, i know it's no fun.

I worked at PetsMart as an obedience instructor and in store for several years and also have been a beloved pet owner. Go to PetsMart, Petco or somewhere and get Nature's Miracle or Simple Solution. After thouroughly cleaning the area, pour, saturate the area of the mattress and allow to dry naturally, this should take care of the problem....Good Luck

I have a Fresh Air unit and I was wondering, can you use it for me as an observation for the mattress? It will be an awesome experience and a great help for the both of us to see if this unit is useful. It will be a wonderful testimony for me to put in my newsletter.

Vinegar & water solution works the best. Just mix equal parts vinegar & water, or a bit more vinegar than water {it doesn't have to be exact} saturate the area, and allow to dry naturally. I don't know if its the acid in the vinegar or what, but its a life-saver when it comes to all kinds of pet odors! I even use it just to spritz the furniture and carpets occassionally :) Oh - doesn't matter whether you use regular or cider vinegar.
