We just moved into a new house with new hardwood floors. I need some help from you all that have them in your home. I am looking for a vacuum or sweeper the sweep up with daily. Right now I use the Swiffer Sweeper Vac, which I love, except that the battery is about to die and will have to buy another one. They only seem to last about a year for me, Looking for one that will last a long time. Also, what kind of mop/system do you use? I'm using vinger/water with a microfiber cloth on my hands and knees. Although this really gets the floors really clean, I just don't have the time to do this, it takes forever! Has anyone ever tried the new microfiber mops that have the refillable sprayer right on the mop (kinda like the Swiffer Wet Jet, but you can just fill it with water or your own cleaning solution). I think Libman makes one. One more thing, we have 3 small children and already have some cosmetic scratches. Is there anything we can do to maybe "buff" them out? Thanks in advance for all your input!

What can I do next?

I use OrgangeGlo on my hardwood floors. What a shine! Don't walk on it when it's wet though...it will leave an impression. But, it dries quickly.

If you use this, you'll need to buy the special mop system that goes with it.

We've had good luck with the Bona hardwood floor cleaning system - the cleaner gets up the gunk our kids drop and the polish fills in all the scratches.

I would recommend a coat of poly or two to help protect against any future scratches- kids/pets/hardwood floors= scratches
Hot water is the best- also method wood floor cleaner. with kids that crawl on the floor you don't want to use any swiffer-like cleaning products on your floors- they are full of chemicals. Method is safer but costly. (I do use the dry swiffer sheets on my wood floor as a daily duster) If you want more ideas on safer products for your home feel free to msg me!

I have hardwood floors and use a Shark stick vacuum for daily sweeping and a Shark Steam Pocket Mop for daily cleaning. They both work really well, especially the steam mop, are lightweight, quick and easy to use.

I have heard rave reviews about the Shark Steam Mop, yet haven't had the extra $100 to buy one myself. I don't use any cleaning on my wood floors at all as the cleaners can strip the finish. A little vinegar periodically is ok, just not all of the time. Otherwise, I use a very damp rag w/ hot water, down on my hands and knees, to clean my floors. It's time consuming, but worth the effort :)
