Hello ladies,
I'm a military wife station in Grafenwoehr Germany, and I'm trying to get my citizenship. I'll welcome any info on how and where can I apply, take the test and everything that you think could help me.
Thank you in advance.

Hi, If you still have over a year left overseas and you have a green card you can expedite citizenship. As I understand it you still have to take the test and pay the cost but it only takes about 4 months and you have to remain overseas for a year after you have it. I am waiting on my green card so I can apply for this, I was told about it at the legal office.

Do you have your green card? You should contact the legal office on base for proper advice. I think you are able to speed up the process because your husband is in the military and you are based overseas. You will still have to take all the tests and might have to visit the US. Also, contact the US Embassy in Berlin (use their website). They will also be able to give some good advice, but will probably send you back to the base legal office.
Good luck and let us know how things go!

Hi S.,
I know that most Army Community Services, overseas, have citizenship classes that you can attend. May I suggest you start by giving the Grafenwoehr (on Base) Army Community Services a call. I'm sure they can point you in the right direction.
Best of Luck to YOU!!

S., congratulations for doing this. I just got done with my interview with INS. The test is not hard at all as long as you study. First of all, when you apply, you make sure that you apply under SECTION 319(e),it is speacially for military spouses, and you get to submit everything, like your fingerprints and photos, it also asks for your husband's unit information but the package will tell you all u need to do.you will need to be here in germany for atleast one year to be able to apply. It is a very fast process though, I submited my application end of july and got a phone call for my interview early of October. So three months was all it took for me, but make sure u apply under SECTION 319(e). think you might need to go to the consulate to get the application,(or package)make sure you ask for SECTION 319(E) IT IS VERY IMPORTANT that you ask for that.
When they call you they give you a week before your appointemnt, so you will have a week to study, so make sure that you study while you wait for THAT call. But like i said, the interview is not hard and the questions are not hard, they ask you 10 questions and u must get atleast 6 right. well it took me one week to study and i got all of them right. believe me, if i can do it, i know you can or anybody can.
The only thing with me was that in frankfurt, where i did my interview, i couldn't do my oath there, so i have to go to berlin to do it and i live next to Landstuhl so i have to travel 6 hours. but i have no choice, i need my passport to travel this christmas, so it's worth the drive.lol.
well S., if you need anymore help or questions with anything at all, please let me know, and good luck with all the process.

ps, you can just go to the embasy and get the package, some bases don;t have enough information on citizenship, like the one i went to. make an appointent with the embasy regarding questions with an immigration officer ONLINE and that way it will be easier to get that package. Im not sure which embasy you want to go but frankfurt requires appointmens. here is a website and just choose the embasy that is closer to you.
