Hi J.,
First of all, CONGRATULATIONS on your new bundle of joy!!! As far as the circumcision, everything is perfectly normal. You have to remember that every experience with every child is completely different, and it will be that way for life. There are no two people that will have the same results with virtually anything. With my son, they told me it would within appx. 1 week, and it occurred in 4 days as well. Like the other poster said, just keep an eye on it for any oddities (redness, swelling, etc.) and keep the lubrication on it, as it is still in the healing process. As for the poopy diapers, the same - its perfectlly normal. Everytime a newborn baby eats, he/she will poop! So, if eats eating 10 times a day, you'll most likely have 10 poopy diapers! It sounds like your new baby is perfectly normal, and everything is up to par! However, don't ever hesitate to call your pediatrician's office if you think something is out of whack. That's what they're there for, and "mother's instinct" generally prevails. They'll let you know if you need to bring him in, or if you're just being a bit irrational. Don't ever be embarrassed to call about anything or think you're bothering them - its what they do, and they've heard it ALL! Best wishes to all of you. How exciting to have such a wonderful gift. Enjoy every moment!
