I'd love to hear about all of the fun things/traditions you guys do during the month of December leading up to Christmas day. I have a 4 & 6 year old. I always plan to do fun things, then I get distracted or busy and only end up looking at Christmas lights. Please, please, please give me all of your fun ideas, and I'll try and squeeze them all in this week!! Haha!

Thank you!
C.

Have a different Christmas movie each night (or on the weekend).
Get some Christmas pajamas and watch the movie together with popcorn or the treats you baked.

Have them make some Christmas cards and go to your local nursing home.

There's nothing wrong with looking at lights -- that was one of my favorite things to do when I was little.

I love Tracy's answer & will add a few of my own:
-Make a gingerbread house together
-Go out together & buy one new, neat ornament for each person in the house
-Adopt a family (giving them a Christmas visit on Christmas Eve or the
day before and you buy them small gifts. It is for less fortunate families
-Make cookies together
-Go visit Santa & have a picture taken
-Go see a Christmas play in town
-Go see a Christmas movie together
-We have hot cocoa w/candy canes hanging from the ring of the mug,
whipped cream, red sprinkles & cookies (most nights) You can spike
the adult's mugs if you want ;)
-have a family party if your relatives live nearby (it can be small & just have them over for cocktails, appetizers & desserts for 2 hrs one night)
-Christmas mass if you are religious
-One year we made our own graham cracker cookie houses & decorated
w/frosting, edible decorations etc
-One year we went to see the Nutcracker etc
Have fun, enjoy & happy holidays! :)

We have a little chalkboard from the dollar store that says ___ days to Christmas and my son changes the number every day. He has an advent calendar and opens a window each day. We bake cookies to give away (and eat) We listen to Christmas music while we decorate. Enjoy!
