That is great! I think the best way to encourage others in their faith is to take action with them. What if, instead of purchasing a gift, grandma and your daughter decided to sponsor a child together? Or maybe Grandma could make a donation to an organization in honor of your daughter and show her that sharing with others in need is what Jesus encourages us all to do? Hiefer International is a unique organization because they have low-overhead (most of the donation actually goes to those in need) and they have different livestock options to choose from. your gift of $20 can buy a flock of chicks that are sent to a family in need. They are taught how to raise the chicks to get eggs for food and money. A great way to show the love of Jesus more than just once!
An even less expensive way would be to spend time together volunteering at a place that is special to your daughter's heart or interests.

If you have Family Christian store near you, I would go there. They have tons of ideas. If she is in to reading they have tons of Christian books for kids her age. They will have tons and tons of stuff:t-shirts, jewelry, figurines, books, cds, etc. =)

Since she's a preteen and has a Bible (you can never have too many different Bibles) I suggest one of the Tradepapers of either the New Testement or Psalms. It's the Bible in magazine form that is colorful with pictures of girls her age and speaks to questions (biblically) like 35 secrets to developoing ture beauty, guys speak their minds, it has quizzes and talks in their language. Just like a "Young Miss" mag or the like. You can find them at thomasnelson.com. They are great for kids who like to read and especially those who don't since it is very engaging. Reading a couple of pages together w/ grandma would be very special.

I am a children's coordinator for my church and use these tradepapers as gifts when the 5th graders transition out of my area to the youth group. They love them!!!

One other publication is "Ask Haley". It's a magazine as well and desinged for teens. (Maybe too soon for your daughter, but keep it in mind.) www.askhaley.com It gets to the questions teenage girls are asking: How do I stay safe online? Is kissing before marriage wrong? Will I ever be loved?

I purchased these for my teenage nieces this year. Both of these publications are nonoffensive ways to speak to teens who otherwise don't get fed the truth.

why not start her on a nativity scene-maybe add several pieces a year.

I would get her a simple book about all faiths.

Any Christian book store should have tons of ideas. When I was growing up my bestr friend had a board game that was SO fun to play. It was Christian based, but not overly so that her friends wouldn't like it. The best part of it was there was no winner or loser. I wish I could remember the name of it. I was a great way for her (and her family, her dad was/is a Presbyterian minister) to share their faith without being overly strong.
