Christmas Gift for Bus Driver?

We normally do a $5 gift card to Sonic. This year we did 'snowman soup' in a mug. Just have fun with it.

I baked mini bundt cakes that I put on a holiday paper plate (see above question about gift and craft ideas). But bus drivers would be glad to get gift cards to fast food or eating out places or to somewhere like Walmart or Target to help with their own holiday shopping (even if it is just $10) The only thing that I would not give is trinkets. Teachers and anyone associated with school can only handle so many apple pins and cutey pie things before they could open their own store. It is a very good idea to give the bus driver a gift. They are basically unappreciated and low paid and will pay special attention to your child if they need something.

With kids in high school and middle school now, we've had many years of teacher/ bus driver presents. My standard is usually cookies and a good bag of coffee. Sometimes if I can find the thermal mugs (Target usually sells them in two packs this time of year.) I pack coffee and a mug together. I figure anyone who drives a bunch of screaming kids every day needs to be awake for it. Also Starbucks gift cards. I have tied on the school bus ornaments to the packages before, too. For the driver that drove ALL of my kids ALL of the way through Elementary- she got gift cards to the AMC for the summer break and Starbucks cards,mugs and cookies at Christmas. (And chocolate at Valentine's Day- we LOVED her!)

Last holiday season Hallmark had a super-duper clearance on some ornaments (less than $1 each), and I bought one that's a yellow school bus with "students" (teddy bears) hanging out of the windows and a bear driver. I'll be giving it to my son's bus driver.

For your son's driver, maybe a pair of nice gloves (for those cold driving days). Also, you could never go wrong with a Target/Walmart/Starbucks giftcard.

How about a Spurs travel coffee mug or a plain one....I put some hershey's kisses inside it...that's what I gave our bus driver for the end of school THANK YOU gift.

Most adults would I am sure like to have some homemade cookies, candies etc. These they can take home and share with their families or eat at lunch, include the recipe also.

Hey- I am a bus driver...so here is what I would like..

Last year I got a gift cards like from walmart and Chilis...
We work weird hours so choc in a travel mug or Starbucks cards are a good idea. A gift bag filled with little snacks. A picture of the kids with the bus. Most of my (bus driver) friends like to do crafts- so handmade gifts are appreciated. Something to decorate the bus, something from the teacher supply store.

.. The best gift I have ever received was a hand written note from a student inside a card thanking me.
I will speak for most... we like anything that shows we are appreciated!

We usually "pool" our funds together with the rest of the neighborhood. Since ours is just one big circle, it sure is easy that way. Then we put all we get either just into an envelope or in a Wal-mart card.

I've also given a plates of homemade cookies.

gift cards to restaurants or grocery store. bus drivers don't make much money. Several yrs. ago, I baked bread, put it in a bag w/ a gift card. The drivers were extremely appreciative.

Loved the gloves, scarf idea, too!

Not so big or tinkety things myself. I know people mean well but in tough times, give people something useful that takes a $$ burden off them.

That is a really nice idea. I like to give gift cards. I know that some kind of monetary gift is always appreciated. I would give about $25. The gift cards are so nice too. Target have pretty ones that are nice and Christmassy looking.
