Hello Moms!

Just wondering if anyone knows of any Christmas activities that a 16 month old would enjoy in the southwest suburbs. We are taking pictures with Santa today but am wondering if there is anything else.

Thanks and Happy Holidays!

Thank you to Julie for the kidwinks.com mention! I'll just add that kidwinks also has a Kids Eat Free calendar, where you can click on a day and find out where kids eat free. Also, if you become a member, which is free, you can then sort any of your search results in order of distance from your house. It's a great help since we have so many things throughout the whole Chicago area and suburbs.

Enjoy the holidays!

A train ride to downtown Chicago can lead to the museums which have a lot of cool stuff for all ages. The Museum of Science and Industry has the Christmas trees from around the world display. Brookfield Zoo's childrens zoo has Santa and Mrs. Claus, ice sculptures, decorated trees, and of course, all the animals. We always purchased a family membership (which pays for itself in 2 visits) so we didn't feel the need to see every square inch of every exhibit to get our moneys worth. Have fun!

The Fox Valley Park District has the Polar Express at Blackberry Farm Dec 5 and 6. I think it is only 3 dollars/person. This is in Aurora, close to I88. My son loves this train anytime of the year. We always love the events at Blackberry Farm.

Also, the Oswegoland Park District has something similar for 10/person. It's called the Holiday Express. It's held the following weekend after Aurora's.

Oswego also has a Christmas Walk Celebration in its quaint downtown area. Includes many things for young kids and a silent Firetruck parade on Friday night. It's Dec 4-6.

I'm not sure how far you are from this area, but Oswego is easily accessible from I-88 at the Orchard Rd. exit.

Is Oswego to far? There is a polar express that I took my son to last year that he might enjoy. It is through the Aurora Park District. Maybe there is one closer to you.

Science and Industry is always fun with their holiday trees and fake snow.

Happy Holidays.
