Hi Moms- I have never been a fan of music, however when I hear the music at church (they have contemporary music that sounds like what you would listen to on the radio- only Christian) it touches and inspires me. Do you know of any Christian bands or music that I could get to listen to at home?

What can I do next?

Casting Crowns is my favorite!!

Also Third Day, Kutless, Newsboys and Audio Adrenaline are pretty good too.

You can also get the WOW CD's, they have all the top songs from the year on them and are usually a good variety of music.

You can go to grooveshark and listen to the bands above for free to see if you like them before you buy their CD's - there are more too, but those are the ones that come to my mind right away. There is another good one that I can't think of right now, but when I think of it I will repost!!

ETA: Mercy Me - that is the one I was trying to think of!!

I agree with the poster who suggested the WOW cd's. I have some of those and love them. There are so many styles and bands, and the WOW collections give you a good mix. Steven Curtis Chapman is one I like. Jars of Clay, Mercy Me, Phillips Craig & Dean, the Winans, there are tons of different ones and I can't think of them right now You can go to the WalMart web page and under the music section go to the Christian Music Genre and listen to clips of the top 100. See who you enjoy!
Good luck and happy listening!

If you like 'hard rock' then Skillet is my fave..they are the bomb! I also like Audio Adrenaline, Trin-i-tee 5:7, Jeremy Camp, MercyMe, Newsboys, Avalon, Michael W. Smith, Steven Curtis Chapman, Jars of Clay, Third Day, Annie Moses band to name a few. Hope this helps. Not sure if any of those artists peak your interest, depends on what genre you like but you can find most on youtube to check them out or your local Christian book store generally has a music section you can listen to the music before you buy. Hope this helps!

Our pastor Sean Keith has awesome music! www.seankeith.com. He has several albums out and recently recorded Brand New Day with our worship choir. It is my favorite!
Also anything by Chris Tomlin is great too. His song 'Our God' is one of my favorites too. Always puts me in an uplifted mood! Hope this helps!

most stuff they play at church is Chris Tomlin.

I really like Jeremy Riddle and David Crowder Band. I rarely listen to anything else. Todd Agnew is good. Mercy Me is popular, but not quite my thing. Michael W Smith is very popular. His are more praise songs.

There are lots of good Christian bands! Try www.klove.com and www.air1.com -- a couple of good Christian music radio stations. You can listen online and when you hear something you particularly like it will tell you who the artist is and you can look up more of their music.

I like the idea of the WOW cds. You can go to Amazon and listen to snippets and look up the artists or full tracks on Youtube. That way you will know for sure you're getting the ones you like. :)

Mandisa is amazing. I saw her live when I went to see Women of Faith this past November. She just blew me away. I have one of her albums and I'm eager to get her new one that's coming out. My favorite song of hers is "Broken Hallelujah."

Steven Chapman is also fabulous, and he was also at Women of Faith. It was his last time touring with them though. He plays with his sons. Look up his song "Cinderella." It was written for his little girl who was accidentally hit by a car by one of his sons, and she passed away. It's sad, but it's beautiful at the same time, about watching our little girls grow up and go through life.

The Women of Faith Worship Team (group of singers) is also amazing. I just love the artists associated with Women of Faith.

There are some more that I listen to as recommended by one of my brothers but would have to dig those up.
