The spine is the bodys brain. I would interview some chiropractors and let them convince you. I know that some are worth their salt.
Someone recommended getting chiropractic care for my 3 yr old niece's allergies. Anybody had any experience with that? In first place, I doubt she will be relaxed enough to get adjusted, but just wanted to see if there are any families out there with good results? She is allergic to almost everything-gluten, soy, dairy, animals, dust, nuts, shellfish.

The spine does house the nervous system, which controls every single function of the body. Therefore, removing nervous system interference through adjustments of the spine can alleviate not only pain in that particular area (headaches, neck and back pain) but many other ailments caused by the body's inability to communicate with the nerves that control other areas. My own kids and myself have been adjusted our whole lives, are sicker less frequently and severely than others too. I've seen it help kids with colic, bedwetting, asthma, ear infections, allergies, asthma. Try it!
not to be snarky, but how does adjusting your back affect your allergies? Sounds like baloney to me.
Absolutely! Most people don't understand that chiropractic care is critical in overall health. The spine is just like a computer's motherboard. It has to be working right in order for everything stemming from it to function correctly. I used to have horrible alleries to the point of needing a warm washcloth on my eyes in order to open them in the morning. I now have an inside dog....
Recent experience: My sister has had a cough (to the point of gagging. I thought it might be Whooping Cough it was so violent) for the last 6 weeks. She went to the doctor and the diagnosis was "post nasal drip, Live with it!" She visited the chiropractor today and because it was so bad they exrayed the upper neck. Her C3 vertabrae disc had slipped out of place. The C3 controls the gag reflex......wow. When she left she was coughing a little but more like a clearing of the throat than like she was dying.
Our family goes to the largest pediatric clinic in GA. The doctors there did not aspire to grow so fast or even think that they would be labeled pediatric but they have had so much success with children that by word of mouth they have grown. My oldest child had awful ear infections and the doctor recommended tubes. I didn't want to go the surgical route and visited the chiropractor. No more ear infections.
An upper cervical specialist is what I would recommend. If you don't have someone that has been recommended to you, go to upcspine.com and find one in your area. Interview them. If they can't explain to you how an adjustment helps the immune system, you're in the wrong place. Keep looking.

my brother is a chiro & there are a lot of things they can do, we have him do things for our kids seasonal allergies...I would talk to a chiro & see what they tell you...
I don't see how a chiropractor will help with allergies.....these are based on an allergy/antigen response and I don't see the correlation. Maybe someone can shed some light and provide references with medical documentation. Thanks.
There is a lot of research on physical alignment and good health. I met a women whose husband had no signs of diabetes after seeing a chiropractor...the body knows how to heal itself in many cases, its worth a try
It may be worth a try to see if it would help her. Also, I wanted to let you know that there is a great supplement that my kiddos and I take which has dramatically improved our allergy issues and immune systems. Let me know if you'd like more info about it! Good luck to you. I hope your niece feels better soon!
I SWEAR by my Chiro as an adult and I DO plan on taking my child when she is about 3 or 4 to him to introduce. He has helped me in strange ways for pain and PPD. I do think for a healthy body (on a normal basis) going 2x per year is a healthy thing to do. However I dont think going to a chiro will 'cure' your childs allergies...on the other hand...it also can not hurt. So its a positive thing but please dont expect him or her to solve the missing link
Doesn't make sense to me.
