Chiropractor - Royal Oak, MI

Hey moms,

I am looking for a chiropractor that practices in either the Royal Oak area or the Shelby Township area (where I work). I prefer one that belongs to the school of thought of adjustments only once a month. I have been to one that makes me go 3 times a week and did not get relief. My old chiropractor adjusted me once a month and it was amazing.

Thanks!

What can I do next?

E.,
I am a chiropractor in Eastpointe, which is out of your way, but I have a good friend in Shelby Township, who is also a chiropractor. Her name is Dr. Nicole Poirier. She is located
52775 Hayes, Shelby Township, MI 48315. The name of the office is Poirier Chiropractic, phone number ###-###-####.
You can look at her website http://www.poirierchiropractic.com
to get a better look at her practice. She is a certified pediatric chiropractor and very gentle with both children and adults.
I can't tell you how often you would be sceduled becasue everybody is a seperate and unique case. The amount of care is determined on the state of health the person is in and their overall goals for their care. I know that she or her equally wonderful associate would be more than willing to set up a consult to discuss any concerns you have about care.
I hope that you are successful in your search for a chiropractor to support your and your famlies wellbeing.

Yours in health and wellness
Dr. B.

Hi E.,

I went to Dr. Kaczmar of Lifeline Chiropractic when I lived in Shelby Township a few years ago. He's at 47950 Van Dyke, north of M-59 on the east side of the street. I think he's just before 21 Mile road. His website is www.lifelinechiropractic.com He's very friendly and effective, but I live too far away now. I didn't go that often and he didn't bug me if I only came in when I had a problem. They do all generally like you to come in for "maintenance" before you have a problem (with good reason), but some are more understanding than others about finances limiting you to only coming in when you're in pain.

No chiropractors I know of have "schools of thought" about how often patients should come. They take it on a case-by-case basis. I've gone to chiropractors when I've had a problem and they've started me out with more frequent visits (a couple times a week) and then weaned down to less frequent (monthly or semi-monthly) visits. It could be that your 3 times a week chiropractor was either not honest and just wanted to make money, or perhaps you were having a problem during that time period that necessitated more frequent visits. If you didn't feel you were getting relief, it's possible that he wasn't effective at making adjustments, or he may have been using a method that doesn't work for you. I'm not up on all the methods, but I remember my chiropractor in NJ saying that they used the Palmer method and telling me that when I moved to try and find someone else who used that same technique. It was hands-on with very little use of "tools".

Oh, I just noticed you're pregnant. You may want to check with whoever you choose and make sure they're experienced with adjusting pregnant women. I know there's a female chiropractor who helps lead the Birth Network of Macomb County and she specializes in chiropractic for pregnancy and children I think. I think she's further east than Shelby though. If you need her info. PM me and I'll try to dig it up for you. I probably have it around somewhere.
