Put the broken tooth in milk until then.
My 10 yr old feel and chipped his tooth. We are taking him to the dentist this afternoon but any do's and don't that i should be aware of.
I was able to get into the dentist same day and he took an xray and it wasn't to the root. He was able to fill it with bond and it looks great. The dentist did a great job

Most likely they will apply a white "filling" to fix the appearance.
Be aware that if he did damage the nerve-there's nothing they can really "do" and it can take years for a damaged tooth to die. This happened to my son's front baby tooth. Fortunately, it was a baby tooth because he did have to have it pulled.
Keep an eye on the tooth over the next few years...or the dentist will at his check ups.
Good luck!
do make sure they get an xray...
do have them look for nerve damage....
do have them fill it in to avoid rot...
dont take no for an answer lol
my son did the same thing and a few weeks later after we had gone to the dentist it started turning grey and we went back to another dentist for a 2nd opinion and they had to pull both front teeth due to damage....
good luck!!!
Our granddaughter fell at her moms and broke her front tooth off. The pediatric dentist put her to sleep and capped it. When it fell out I could not easily tell which one was the cap and which were the natural teeth. A root canal and cap may be what they need to do if the nerves are compromised in any way. If not then just a white filling material could be used to fill it in.
MY daughter chipped her front tooth a couple of years ago. She will be getting bonding done on it. A coworker warned me against getting a veneer. A bonding will not require filing half the tooth, losing strength in it and will last longer. She will ahve to be careful how she eats, eating more on her side than with the front tooth. She does not have any nerve damage so we have waited a bit.
