Chipotle - Jff

Today my coworker went to Chipotle to pick up our lunch. It's too far to go on our 30 minute lunch, meaning she was willing to be 15 minnutes late to get this food. We are all excited to get it and now that it's here there is a warm, happy, satisified feeling sweeping the office. What is the food or restaurant that you crave? That you'd drive way out of your way and be willing to throw the budget out the window and be late to work for?

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Oooooh Glorias! They have the best salsa and the best one hitter quitter Margarita! I love to sit on thier patio and drink Ritas with my honey. It's not the food I crave but the atmosphere. Sorry to make yall miss your hometown. I miss mine too. Taco Villa and Coyota Cafe in Amarillo! And actually I prefer Freebirds to Chipotle, but both are great. I dont know what restaurant I would go out of my way for. Every now and then I get a mean craving for Wienrschnitzel. I miss going to really great Chinese Buffets. I haven't found a good one here, but in my hometown I'd pass 10 mediocre buffets to drive all the way across town to the good one.

When I still worked on fridays we would all get together and order jasons deli. Its kinda pricey (to me anyway) but that brocolli and cheese soup is other worldly! I couldn't wait for friday just 4 that bowl of soup!

Sorry, I have to say, that Chipotle is way over rated. Their food is just mediocre and over priced, imo. Not sure there is a restaraunt around here that I'd be willing to be late to work for, but there are plenty that I sure would stop at after work on the way home. :)

Been to Chipotle . . . its a big SO WHAT to me and my wife. I've had chipotle type food that was so much better (and less expensive) at other mom and pop mexican food places around here.

My work ethic interferes with being late for work without permission. BUT, I love Red Robin's endless parmesan garlic fries with the "burning love" burger. AND Famous Dave's (BBQ) burnt ends.

Good question! Good luck to you and yours.

I love Chipotle. I don't think it's too expensive considering one burrito feeds me twice. I eat half one day and save the rest for the next day. Yum!

I love Chili's & Panera. We don't have either one around here, but if we did I would be a regular. Our Chipotle just opened a few months ago & has also entered our regular rotation at the office. Did you love it?

I crave NYC food. When we lived upstate, we'd go to the city about every 6 weeks.

We'd walk all over town just eating, Rice To Riches(you can actually have this overnight-ed) and Lombardi's Pizza in NOLITA, then all the way up to 72nd and Broadway for the recession special at Grays Papaya-2 dogs with hot mustard and sauerkraut and a pineapple juice. Thai food on Restaurant row...

I also crave the Chicken Alfredo with Broccoli from a little cafe I used to eat at and the fresh made creamy Italian dressing and eggplant Parmesan at the little Italian Restaurant my DH and I used to eat at in college at least once a week that went out of business :(

Right with you on Chipotle! It is a favorite. Sorry, I have to disagree with you ABM-$6 for a nice stuffed burrito is a pretty good deal. It's one of the better "fast" food. Almost every thing is fresh that day-not frozen & most things come from a local source.
But, if I'm looking for a sit-down casual meal with my family, it's Red Robin. I've had the best burgers there. I've heard that 5 Guys is pretty good too, I just haven't tried them yet.

i'm totally with you on chipotle, even though as a rule i don't care for chains. there's a chinese restaurant near work that has hot and sour soup that can make the worst day brighten up.
