I know this topic has been mentioned before. Has anyone sold/consigned their clothes at Childrens Orchard.....Looking at the location of Rowley Mass. I have seen some negative feedback on other stores, didnt know about this location. It appears they pay you in cash for your things. Is it worth it, how is their pricing..........I thought of trying craigslist/ebay, but not sure I have the time. Thanks ...

I have sold to them many times in the past, but I won't anymore. The last time I gave them a FULL trash bag of perfect clothes (even name brand like gap, old navy, gymboree). they were washed, folded, not 1 stain. They only gave me $8. Total rip off. I will not sell to them anymore. You could probibly get more from craigslist.

I felt exactly the same way which is why I started consigning at seasonal children's consignment sales. In fact, I loved it so much that now I own a sale and will never look back! You make so much more money, dont have to worry about buyers (meeting up with strangers from CL or dealing with shipping on ebay), you set the price, drop it off and then get a check! You can tag while watching the kiddos, at night watching TV, whatever works for you and I actually end up spending some of the money I make getting new gently used clothes for my kids. For example, last sale I made $800 consigning and was able to buy everything I needed for my 4 year old and 22mo old daughter for about $180. So I never spend money anymore! My husband loves it because I don't shop retail and they always have tons of awesome clothes and we spend the difference on fun family activities, eating out, or surprise expenses we didn't plan on. If you want to know more about my sale specifically feel free to contact me directly and good luck!

They are very strict about what they accept, and they don't let you see when they go through your stuff. I had tons of beautiful hand smocked clothing from age newborn - 5T that was in "top" condition. They didn't accept it. All of it was purchased within the 5 years of my daughter's birth, so it was still in style. The things they bought were more of the Old Navy/Gap/Gymboree items which were definitely more "worn" and used. I was a little shocked, but ended up selling the smocked clothing on ebay and made over $900 in a year. So I guess it depends on your local store what sells the best for them. You may want to check out the store first and see what type of clothing they have the most of - playwear or dress clothing. That way you won't be surprised at what they take and don't. I have to tell you, if you have some really nice smocked clothing - sell it on ebay! The buyer pays the shipping, and you can ship most items for less than $5. It's not really all that time consuming in my opinion. I thought it was fun! Good luck!

LOVE it. It's easy to sell to them and then anythign they don't want, they'll either donate for you or give back to you, so you can sell it. If you take a store credit, then you get more rather than a check back from them.
