Hello: I have lots of little boy clothes to give away. Does anyone know of a charity or organization in the fremont, newark, union city, or close proximate area, that will accept gently used clothing?

Thank you!

What can I do next?

My husband works with a doctor who has a practice out in Zimbabwe. He goes out there every three months. He takes clothing and food to the people that need it. My husband and I give him all of our clothes we don't use any more. They could use children clothing also. If this is something that you are interested in doing let me know.

Hi Y.! Centerville Free Dining Room in Fremont would take them. They get families in there who are very often in need of clothing. They will accept clothing for all ages. They are located at the Centerville Presbyterian Church on Central and Dusterberry (across from the DMV). If you want more info, you can respond to me privately and I can give you more info.

I hope this helps!!

Milpitas Food Pantry on Main St. in Milpitas takes both food and clothing. The demand is WAY up this year.

Jubilee Christan Center off of 1st and 237 in San Jose has a food and clothing pantry opened to the community. www.jubilee.org. They can always use the clothes as they have hundreds of families coming in each week. They just gave away 1000+ turkey dinners this past weekend to the community and will do it again for x-mas with a gift wrapped for the children.

I like Jill B. connection.

Also the money from the salvation army, when people shop, supports the rehabilitaion center. That can only be done through donations of used items.

Viola Blythe Community Service Center - in Newark, CA - accepts donations and gives the donations away for free to families in need. (www.violablythe.org. )

St. Vincent de Paul ###-###-#### and HOPE services (www.hopeservices.org) will pick things up at your house or you can drop them off yourself. Both have re-sale shops in Fremont.

They both resell at greatly reduced prices - HOPE sales go to programs for developmentally disabled adults "to live and participate in their communities".

Hope this helps!
