I have also had several friends who had bad experiences with Dr. Duffy's office. Dental Care for Kids is great and would be more flexible. Good Luck!
After arriving 8 minutes late to my children's dentist the other day after being delayed in traffic and getting them out of school, my current dentist Dr. Debra Duffy did not have time to treat them. Exasperated, I begged them to do it..but they close early on that day and just wouldn't stay an extra 5 minutes to clean my daughter's teeth! With 2 kids, we've been going there for 10 years - can you believe it? Do you have any suggestions of other Pediatric Dentists in Flower Mound?

The best dentist in Flower Mound is Dr. Steven Titensor. I've used him for the past 10 years and he is fantastic. He is very gifted and talented. His staff is very friendly and accommodating. I've called before when I was running late, and they were fine with it. He has done all preventive care on my family as well as complete restorative treatment for me with beautiful veneers and crowns! I am so happy with his work that I highly recommended him to everyone - he's the best I've ever used. Best of all he is painless and a perfectionist!!!
I had thought that this dentist seemed the ideal one for children when they opened and we did their ribbon cutting to welcome them - I suppose that she too might have had an appointment to go to do you think? (being charitable!)
However, I attend Dr Caffey-Earle's practice just up the road from them, in the professional block just north-west corner of Sagebrush/2499.
It is not as 'smart' as Dr Duffy's but it always struck me that they were child friendly and had lots of things about for the younger patients (and I see teens there too whenever I attend who always seem to be happy to be there and are greeted in a most friendly manner)- it seems that Dr C-E has 2 children herself and so is mentally geared this way. Also in the past month or two she now has new twins too. Her whole staff do seem always to have time and interest in their patients I must say and do seem to go above and beyond the call of duty, taking the time to do what is needed.
I have no hesitation in recommending them so please do mention my name if you decide to try them out
Good luck,
J.
Although he's not a pediatric dentist (we went to one in Southlake for years), I highly recommend Dr. Terry Test. His office is at 2499 and Firewheel. Our whole family goes to him. Everyone in his office is so kind and welcoming. He is great with kids and puts you and the kids to ease by explaining everything he's going to do. He is also a local boy scout leader, in our son's troop, so we have a lot of experience with his interaction with kids and his high level of integrity. Good luck!
Sorry to hear that happened R.-I can definitely see how that would be frustrating.
We've been going to Dental Care for Kids(Dr. Wickersham and Dr. Gonzalez) for about 7 years now. Have always been very happy. They are a husband and wife team, great w/the kids and w/us as well. They are on Cross Timbers near the Morris rd. intersection.
Good luck,
N.
R., I won't go there for the mear fact that they do not let you go back with your child. For some children that is fine, not for others. And who knows what they are doing without a parent around, to me that just makes them untrustworthy to begin with.
Anyways, when we moved here 2 years ago I found a great dentist that I have referred a lot of people to and they have been very happy. Her name is Dr. Peggy Shih. She is Flower Mound dentristy on the southeast corner of 1171 and 2499. She has 2 small kids of her own. My 2 girls, now 5 and 7, love going there.
I'll tell you a couple of reasons why she is so great...the story is my 5 year old, when she was 3, her tooth on a little boys head. I called and they were closed (it was a friday and I think they are all closed) I called the emergency #, it was her cell phone and she answered!! She squeezed us in Monday morning and gave us her opinion, but also told me to get a second opinion!! (how many drs do that???) and then I called to ask her which of the ones she recommended that were covered under my insurance and she called me back. I just think she is truely there for the patients! And it is her own practice, so she wants to make sure everyone is happy. Like I said the people I have recommended there love her.
Good Luck!!
Dr. Rozas in Coppell is the best pediatric dentist around, in my opinion. They have always taken us right on time, the appointments are pretty quick, and they really emphasize the right way to brush and floss. My girls ASK to go there when we drive by so they really like the staff.
A friend in Flower Mound was referred to Dr. Rozas by her own dentist, and she's very happy.
I would also recomend Dr. Caffey-Earl before we started seeing her my daughter didn't like to go the dentist but she now loves to go. The whole staff is wonderful and they always explain what they are going to do. Good luck in finding a new dentist.
Did you call to let them know you were delayed? I've been delayed like that in the past for both doctor and dentist appts and by calling, that helps them plan better and they generally don't refuse to treat you even though you may have inconvenienced them.
That said, you might just try a regular dentist for your kids at this age. We use Dr. Weaver in Lewisville - he is the best I've ever been to - doesn't miss a thing and very conscientious. His hygenist Kim is wonderful as well - takes her time and is extremely thorough. However, their hours may be too limited for you - cleanings only on M-Wednesday, etc. although they do have 7am appts.
As far as pediatric dentists, I do not recommend Dr. Seeley(sp?) in Lewisville, even though alot of local dentist do recommend him. He still uses mercury fillings and refuses to consider all the recent research showing how dangerous they are for our children's health, even when he's told by other dentists (he believes the ADA partyline that mercury is safe, but that's only around anymore to protect them from lawsuits).
Dental Care 4 Kids in Flower Mound is the BEST! We have gone there for several years and they are wonderful!
I think Dr. Duffy is a great dentist, and has a great office. I would HIGHLY recommend her and her office. She and her other doctors at the office are terrific, caring, loving, and care. The reviews seem highly uninformed. Do not go anywhere else! The other pediatric office talked about......I have nothing good to say about any of them.
While it's not in Flower Mound, we take our kids to Dr. Reedy in Coppell. It's just off of Denton Tap Rd, by 121. They are great! The whole office is very friendly and have always been very patient with our kids!
I agree with Nancy - Dental Care 4 Kids on Cross Timbers is great! My kids both go there and love Dr Wickersham and Dr Gonzalez. We have never had a problem with them. Good luck!
Dental Care 4 Kids--Dr. Wickersham
Dental Care 4 Kids.
My friend had a bad experience with Dr. Duffy years ago and would never go to her again, so I never did. Always loved Dental Care 4 Kids, and now mine are teens so they go to the regular dentist, at Cornerstone, but they really miss Dr. Wickersham/Dr. Gonzalez.
My son's first dental visit was to Dr. Duffy and it was horrible (and we were early). They were rude to both my son and me. We will NEVER return. For his last visit, we went to Dental Care 4 Kids and they were WONDERFUL. Everybody there was very kind and and reassuring to my son, who now hates the idea of the dentist (thank you Dr. Duffy). So I agree with several of the other posters- Dental care 4 kids is a great choice.
I can't refer you to anyone in the area. But just had to post that I am with you on this call. We all know what it takes to possibly have to get time off of work, get the kids out of the "school system" and fight traffic. 8 minutes is not very forgiving. 15 min is reasonable. This is very poor customer service esp. with a long-time client/customer. I would hope that they have that policy VERY WELL POSTED. If you are late over 3, 5, 8 minutes we can not accept you or something along that line, and a reminder call given. Yikes. I'm sure you've NEVER waited 8 minutes in the waiting room :)
Good luck finding a "flexible" dentist.
I vote with Dental Care 4 Kids... Dr. Gonzalez and Wickersham are the best and their new office is incredibly child friendly! My son has seen both of them and their staff put my little guy right at ease. Sorry you had the negative experience at Dr. Duffy's but I don't think you'll be disappointed with Dental Care 4 Kids.
Good luck!
