Anyone know about this school? We are desperately trying to find a VPK preschool for my almost 4 year old that could possibly take our 1 year old if/when I go back to work. Right now I'm between Discovery Point on 60, the JCC on Bryan and all the way down to Fishhawk Early Learning (really too far, but great school). I just looked at all the readiness test scores, and Children's Academy scored well, but I don't know anything about it. Can anyone help?

So What Happened?

Thanks for the responses. I went and looked at the school today and it was wonderful. Unfortunately, they don't take little ones until they are 18 months, so I may have to go with one of my other choices, at least for a while!

I hear Children's Academy is great, one of my neighbors son goes there and they love it. I believe they don't take children until 18 months though. My children go to Castles of Imagination on Bryan. Love it there, the owner Ms. Tina is great, Ms. Lavenia, the director is organized and the place is clean and fun. Good luck!

I can't say enough good things about Children's Academy. My daughter went there for 3 years and now is in Kindergarten, but will be returning there this summer for summer camp. The teachers that are there have been there for many years (unlike lots of other places where teachers come & go). From the first time we walked into CA, we felt the warmth of the school and everyone there. My daughter did the VPK program and was extremely well prepared for entering Kindergarten at a private school. They do lots of activities there - field trips, theme weeks, etc., and they have a pool that the kids can use for swimming lessons as well as play in during the summer. One of the other things I really liked is that they provide all food - snacks & lunch - very convenient. The school recently switched ownership and we were a bit concerned, but it seems to have continued on as a great place. We drive by there every day and Mr. Baldwin (the current owner) is always out there running around with the kids!

It is true about the waiting list though - it took my daughter a year to get in but that was several years ago, I'm not sure what it is like now.

My 7 year old daughter has been going there for almost two years now. She goes to Limona Elementary and Childrens Academy after school and also attends their summer program. It's a great place. They have a really nice, clean well maintained facility, the staff are wonderful and they really keep the kids busy and involved. I would highly recommend them.

Children's Academy is a loving and stable environment. "Miss Suzanna" has been the owner since when my children attended there 20 years ago. She still hugs them and makes a fuss when she sees them.

I have heard good things about the Childrens Academy in North Brandon...but if you really want a wonderful school that can take care of both your daughters, take a look at Peacock's Plume at Bell Shoals and Bloomingdale. My 4 1/4 year old just graduated from their VPK program and I plan on sending my youngest daughter, currently 6 months old, there when I decide to go back to work.

Ms. Wanda and Ms. Becca are excellent teachers for the 4 year olds. Not sure who the teachers are for the younger children.

Here is their website...

R.,

My daughters are now 14 and 11 but I remember when they were younger really wanting to put them in Children's Academy - they had a really good reputation in the area. Unfortunately they also had a very long waiting list at the time. I have heard nothing but good about them over the years.

Good Luck

I have heard good things about this school but both of my children have gone to A Child's Haven which is located in Brentwood Hills off Mt. Carmel Rd in Valrico. I love Mrs. Bowser and Mrs. Michelle there. They are wonderful! I also believe that they would be able to take your one year old.

I can't help you with this school. But my 6 year old went to Children's Nest on Bryan Road. Ms. Annette was great with all the kids. I'm looking at Merry Go Round and some others in Riverview so I can keep my kids on the same side of town or I'd be back at Children's Nest.
