I am looking for afordable childcare at my home 3-4 nights a week. The timings would be 6p-9.30pm. The person must have a DL and be able to drive as I may need them to pick up my child from her daycare once a while. Does anyone where I could find someone for this?

What can I do next?

Another option is to contact your local high school. Many high schools have either a child care or intro to teaching class, ask to speak to the teacher. These teachers typically have knowledge of students who are good with children and are quite aware of the student's personality, work ethic, and overall responsibility. As for the pay, I started my high school babysitter at $8/hr and after she had several successful times of babysitting, we raised her pay to $9/hr. A couple of times we paid her $10/hr. It depended on what we expected of her. So keep in mind what your daycare providers duties will be, how many children he/she will be caring for, and how many of the hours the children will be sleeping when determining how much to pay. Best of luck.

i bet you can find a lot of people who would love that time slot since the hubby would be home from work to take care of their kids. this is not the place though. i would go to sittercity.com or a nanny agency . please do background checks. this person will be putting your child to bed at night

Hi H.,
I looked into this option in the Carol Stream area. Everybody age 16 and up charged $10 an hour. Wheaton College has a list that you purchase every quarter for 5$ and you and the college young lady can maybe get started. I have been told about care.net, a neat way to find day care. My friend had great success there. Have you tried a church where childcare staff might know of someone who could be at your home when needed.

Good luck with your search,
L. L.

Have you tried an Aupair. http://jpetinga.aupairnews.com
It is tax deductible, they cook, clean, do wash, homework, light housekeeping, etc. It is so great and makes parents lfe so much easier.
