You can just sign your child up with an agency. If your child s younger than 2, they should allow you to submit your own photos for evaluation. Portfolios can be costly.

The agency should not ask you for any money. They will be paid by a percentage of what your child makes.

Lang Talent in LA is a good one. They are on the web.

we just signed our little man up with an agency in vegas. It's called Kids Talent network. They put together a website for your child with pictures you've sumbitted and then they will "send him out" to industry professionals in your area. The cost to register with them is $600, but if they don't get you meetings with said industry professionals you'll get your money back. As I said, we JUST did this so I really can't vouch for them yet; you should look into it further. If you'd like to send me your email, I can send you the link to my son's page (they are private, the public does not have access) and give you the name of the lady we are working with.

I would call modeling agencies and send in photos to them, instead of doing pageants. If you do pageants, watch the show first, called Toddlers and Tiaras, or something like that. It's so sad. Most of the kids don't want to be there, but their moms make them, and they spend thousands and thousands of dollars. If he DOES like pageants, by all means do it, but the minute he protests, you should stop. Anyway, I would go the agency route first. Good luck!

oh man oh man can i tell you :). my daughter does pageants (boys and girls compete). we put her in the california tropic pageants. if your baby places in the finals they are given the oppertunity to model with the pageant affiliated companies and others. check them out they have many pageants going on (swim suit and party wear). heres the website- californiatropic.com you can look at the winners (the new ones are the tri state and my daughter jaiden is in there for swim suit!). what i needed to do for her to have the chance to model is get a minors work permit (you can probably goto the van nyes office) and then i send the request in with an orrigional state issued birth certificate. after you get the work permit in the mail then you can start to look into different agencies. but be careful ones that want you to pay upfront are a scam. also when you send an agency a COPY of the work permit you may also have to send a head shot and full body shot. if you have any other questions please ask!
