Hi Moms!

I am going to be traveling to Finland with my 16 month-old in the next few weeks and I am wondering if anyone has seen some kind of wrist harness that I can use for her? I flew to Finland and back with her alone in July when she was 11 months-old and that was the hardest thing to do EVER! She would get so tired that she would fight it and fight it, throw herself back in my lap (we went back and forth ebtween the limp noodle and stiff legs!), scream...of course she'd want down so she could crawl up and down the aisles. The hard part was the long layovers in the airports - what to do with a small child who is terribly sick of sitting and doesn't want to stay in her stroller (I don't blame her!!).

Any suggestions are great!! I don't want the full type of harness that wraps around the child's back, just something for the wrist. So when we're at the mall or airport, she can walk around safely and I know she's right there with me rather than wandering off to God knows where! Thanks!!!

My mom found a harness at Babies R Us that goes over their chest and on your wrist. And I saw this one at Walmart.com: http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=4532497 which seems cute, if you have time to order online.

I did a search on child harness and there seems to be several sites that have them.

I have had both, one that is a harness, but could be used on the wrist, then I found a harness that looks like a puppy backpack. I rarely used them, mostly just on trips where we would be out and about a lot, and I knew my son would get cranky sitting in his stroller. I actually think that the one on the wrist bothered him a lot more, yeah it doesn't stand out as much to passers by who give you this look of "why do you have a leash for your child?!" But he would figure out how to take it off so easily, and it bugged the heck out of him! I found the puppy harness at Walmart and let him pick between the puppy and the monkey. I just told him it was his own little backpack he could wear, and he didn't have a problem wearing it. The other one that I have could be used as a harness or on the wrist, I would get one that offers both options, just in case the wrist version doesn't work out!

Hi-
I have a cute puppy dog child harness that I got at Wal-Mart for my precocious 2 year old. It is helpful but believe me, he can be stubborn with it on and do the "melt" where he doesn't move or kick and scream. But I do like that I have him in my control--esp since he refuses to hold my hand, but we are working on that. Good luck! L.

I heard there are some at Wal Mart. I used a Sutemi carrier. I also suggest you buy one of those baby location monitors just in case she gets away from you. I found one at Right Start in Dallas on Lovers Lane.
