Hi my ex-husband and I have come to an agreement and need the proper paperwork done with some guidance on how to get this approved by the courts. I have attempted to do this on my own but with no success. Went to court today to get some guidance from the associate judge and he said that the paperwork I am filing is very difficult to get approved.

Any help is appreciated!
I recently got remarried and my husband lives in San Diego. My ex-husband has agreed to allow me to take my daughter, otherwise I would not leave without her. I would really like to get this done. From our pre-trial, if we did not come to an agreement, our court date would be May 16, 2012.

Thank you!
A.

You definitely need to do this through the proper court channels or you may end up losing your daughter in the process. I recommend you John Haugen at the Haugen Law Firm, ###-###-####. Best wishes and God bless!

I just want to add that you should get a hold of Publication 501 from the IRS web site to have the infomation added to your custody agreement on claiming the child for federal tax purposes. You might also want to get a hold of whatever publication your state uses as well.

It's hard to know if someone can help you without more of a description of what you're trying to do.

Here in CA, as long as you both agree, you simply prepare and submit a Stipulation and Order signed by both of you with a place for the judge to sign making the stipulation the court's order. Doesn't seem like it would be that difficult - that's why I'm saying you need to say what paperwork you're trying to get approved because why would the judge say it's difficult to get approval? If you both agree, there shouldn't be an issue. This must be something "out of the box".
