I would like some feedback on your choice to vaccinate against chicken pox, expose your child an let them build a permanent immunity or other choices? I have read some alarming reseach on the vaccine.

What can I do next?

I was torn when it came to the chicken pox vaccine too, especially since I'd heard it doesn't always prevent the child from getting c.p. I ended up getting it for my daughter because the nurse said the c.p. would be much less severe if she did get the vaccine than if she didn't.

I'm still not convinced it was the right decision, but she told me if I waited on it insurance so I went ahead and did it. I want to do a little more research before my son is old enough to get the vaccine.

I guess I'm not much help, but just wanted to let you know I struggled with the decision too!

Rather than ask for opinions here, ask your child's doctor for the facts. Did you read them on websites, from reputible sources? Talk to the doctor and tell him/her your concerns on vaccinating your child for the chicken pox.

In my opinion, get the vaccine. My son had it & he didn't have the chicken pox as severe. My daughter didn't have it & she was actually 10 yrs old when she got the chicken pox. It was almost deadly for her. She was covered head to toe & was so sick. I tried everything & I couldn't get her to stop vomiting. She ended up in Children's Mercy hospital for a couple days. She missed almost a month of school. Definately get the shot. It's worth it.

A., ask your pedatrician but my son has had the vacine and I had the vacine as a child and still got it. I believe it is better to have the vacine and then your child get it rather then to not have the vacine and get it. Also, your order will be in Tuesday.
