My son got the vaccine two days ago and yesterday and today complains of headache (no fever) then today took a three hour nap...I'm assuming this is due to the vaccine!?
Anyone else's child feel nasty after the vaccine?

What can I do next?

Yup, common side effect... But much better than getting a case of full-fledged chicken pox! I still remember when I had it at 8 years old... I still have a few scars from it. :/

Sure. Two of my kids needed some Tylenol to bring a fever down. They were fine the next day. It is a common side effect.

Keep in mind how vaccines work. They aren't magic - they introduce a dead (or severely weakened) virus into the system, along with an agent that will stimulate an immune response. From there, your child's immune system leaps into action, creating antibodies to the virus. All of this takes a fair amount of energy from the child's body. Being tired and having a headache is normal. It means that the immune system is doing exactly what it was designed to do, and it's creating a defense against this disease. Just give him a little Tylenol and let him rest. He will be fine!

Sure - no problem. Far superior to chicken pox. Read the literature they gave you.

Um, yeah, vaccines can cause reactions. Did you not read the disclaimer you signed?

I had the chicken pox when I was about 6 yrs old.
It's a totally miserable disease and I have a few scars from it to this day (I'm 53 now).
I had blistering itchy pox EVERY WHERE - scalp, inside mouth and ears, arms, legs, back, torso - you wanted to scratch everything and there were places you couldn't reach.
The fever wasn't great either.
Mom stood us up in the bathtub and covered us in calamine lotion - it didn't help.

A vaccine, a few headaches and naps?
I'd take that ANY DAY.

Fortunately the vaccine came along when our son was young and we made sure he got it.
He was a little tired for a few days but he really didn't have much of a reaction to it.
I hope he never has to go through what I did.

Sure, that's why they put give them Tylenol or Motrin afterwards. It's really normal. It's the virus in the shot building up their immunity to it.
