You can cook everything together but the pasta. You don't have to fully cook it, but I don't think it will be soft enough otherwise.
I put the chicken in first, as it takes the longest to cook, then add the veggies than sauce and pasta.
have you ever just thrown the chicken and pasta and veggies and sauce with the spices/seasonings all together in the pan, WITHOUT cooking the chiken OR pasta OR veggies first, baked it and have it turn out yummy???? I am just really not in the mood to cook it all seperately and then put it all together to bake...yep, it is one of those lazy days...no sleep plus me and 3 out of 3 kids being sick means I just want to do something easy for dinner. I will cook it all seperately if i have too......but PLEASE tell me that there is a lazy way of doing this and have it turn out yummy and delicious??????? and if so what are your recipes?? to add, the chicken is boneless chicken breasts that were already marinated in a tomato basil marinade and frozen...some kind of grocery store delight/sale....lol...help me please, I always ask cooking questions and ya'll ALWAYS give me the best recipes and advice!!! i need help, lol
Thanks ladies....I called my mom to ask her and she said...nope, gotta cook the pasta first...I dont really have the time to cook it all seperate so I just put the chicken in a 9X13 pan with some italian dressing, garlic etc, covered with foil and am happily letting it bake itself and will do super easy sides...probably stuffing and then heat up the left over corn....doesnt really do together, but my son loves stuffing and corn so he'll be happy and it doesnt much matter to me today what I eat. so, if the kiddo is happy then i'm happy. Thanks though!!!

crock pot is a super easy way to do this, another good idea is have cooked chicken on hand. once a week I buy a whole chicken. I cook it in the crock pot and then discard the skin and bones. Then i have chicken for salads, pastas, soups, stir frys, ect
You can but you need to add water to the sauce since a mess of it will be absorbed into the pasta. I would cook it for an hour at 350 but check after 45 minutes and see if you need to bump up the temperature.
Basically you are treating the pasta as you would a lasagna noodle.
It is best if you boil the pasta a bit first but.....
One of my fav dinners is chicken, potatoes, carrots, beets, onion and garlic - throw it all into a roaster, season with a little s&p and bake at 350 till done (depends on the chicken you use). SO good.
If you have to have pasta, I think you'd have to cook that separately.
I remember a recipe, pasta bake, where you could throw the pasta in uncooked, but you need some type of liquid in the casserole dish, like pasta sauce and water, then you add all the ingredients and cover with foil and bake for about an hour at 375 I think.
I make this other recipe that has the same concept, but maybe when you are feeling better, since there are a few more steps. You have to brown about 1 pound ground beef, and boil the noodles (one box of penne), and you throw those cooked items in a 9 x 13 casserole along with a can of diced tomatoes, a can of drained corn, I also saute two onions chopped along with garlic (3-4 cloves) and a chopped bell pepper and throw that in, one can of tomato soup, salt and pepper. Top with mozzarella, cover with foil, bake at 325 for one hour. The kids love it.
