BUILT NY - they are neoprene (the same stuff scuba suits are made of) and very chic. They come in LOTS of colors and patterns. And if you search online, you can often find good sales. I have two black ones.
Hi Mamas,
I'm a Work at Home Mom and til now have had all nonprofit clients. I've been able to stay pretty low key and casual when dressing for meetings with them as that is their standard of dress. Now I have the potential to add two for-profit clients, and I need to up my look a bit for meetings, pitch, etc. One thing I need is to get rid of my nasty laptop bag -- can anyone recommend a brand or store that would have something that's a bit more chic than black pleather and that has room for a large laptop, cord and some files? And that doesn't weigh more than me?
Thanks so much!
THANKS EVERYONE for the ideas -- I am ready to shop! Just got confirmation on my new client yesterday so I can justify the expenditure :-) .

Another vote for ebags... I got a beautiful laptop bag there (seriously, *men* even notice it and comment on it) for $65 bucks several years ago. They don't have the same one, but they have a ton of selection.
I just had a coupon code from them in my email... EMTHX12YRS for 20% off and free shipping over $50. So take a look.
If you aren't going to be lugging it through TSA on a regular basis, I really like those tote style laptop bags that looks like a large purse... very chic, very feminine. They have a padded pocket for the laptop on one side, a zipper section for cords, and you can put your files on the other side.
I think they're sooooo cute... if I didn't have the tote I got for free through work, I'd totally get one of those.
Try ebags.com I got a really cute laptop bag from them when I was a WAHM and my very picky boss was happy with it. They have a pretty wide variety of styles, brands, and price ranges. Well, at least they used to. Honestly, I haven't bought anything from them in a while but I used to buy from them quite often and was always pleased with their prices, quality, and customer service. Just be sure and look at the dimensions of the bag and make sure it is what you need - I generally wanted something big enough to put paperwork in so I always made sure it was bigger than an 8 1/2 x 11 sheet of paper. Good luck!
