Thank you for all for the wonderful ideas!

I L., we have the same problem. How about a hanging plant or other plant. Walmart has like scrapbooking stuff or kits that you can make, like imprints of the kids hands, maybe have them decorate a big rock or something for the yard. My grandparents like birds, they have birdfeeders and hummingbird feeders. I think they'd be happy with anything the kids made. Like I said, try Walmart, they have tons of kits for kids, picture frames you can decorate, etc.
Last year, I gave my grandparents some baked stuff and some large print crossword and word search books puzzle books (they love those). This year, I'm giving them a framed picture of my kids in a nice frame. For my husband's 90 year old grandma, we we always get a bunch of scratch off lotto tickets. SHe loves them! For my parents, my sisters and I always get movie and restaurant gift cards since they usually just go buy anything they want or need. They enjoy these each year.
Try www.sharemykidsart.com. We like it because it's personal and the grandfolks love it. It's also pretty inexpensive which is nice!
There are tons of products online that can use photos that are reasonable, try Lillian Vernon and Oriental Trading, or that are geared toward grandparents. I have also in the past for my mother and my MIL bought one of those frames with multiple pics and filled them with pics of us and the kids. Most malls have shops that will print pics on shirts, sweatshirts. I also look for interesting things in mail order like I found a crocheted blanket a couple of years back, had a really pretty verse about grandmothers on it.
You have 3 year olds - you're fine. Just frame some art work, maybe along with a snapshot of the kids. Grandparent's don't even care if it is just scribbles :)
I have a friend that had the same problem and she decided that she would have her kids do art work on a canvas. The first time she bought them her parents a nice wood frame and every year she has the kids do new art work to change out the ones from the year before.
I have another friend that was a scrapbooker and painted the canvas to look aged. Then did some family pictures with some embellishments. It was very cute! Craft or scrapbooking magazines or books have all kinds of ideas that you could copy from.
Check out snapfish.com. They have all kinds of cute picture gifts and their prices are very reasonable.
I have found that photo gifts are great. Last year, we did mouse pads with our sons pictures on them, and they were a big hit. You can get them off Snapfish or Shutterfly for less than $15. For my dad's birthday, I made him a book of my parents and my son off of Shutterfly. I think it cost less than $30. It's hard-cover and turned out beautiful. They absolutely love it and show it to everyone who comes over. The site has templetes that take you through the process, so it is really easy to do.
We've made little picture "scrapbooks" that could be called something like a grandma brag book to give to grandparents. You take a couple of paper bags (the craft kind are best), fold them in half and tie a ribbon through the folded end (two hole punches) and then make it like a little scrap book. The folded bottoms of the paper bags make a fun little flap for pictures to peak out from behind, and you can make pictures that pop out of the inside of the top of the bag. If you want more information, email me and I'll see if I can find you a link with some examples online.
How about doing some embroidery for them? We can match any style of decor, color, theme...or a grandparents shirt, sweater, towels, or tote canvas bag with the kids name on it or their last name... visit my website www.nanapuddins.com. The site is still under a lot of construction so please bare with me, however you can call and we can discuss some more details also. ###-###-####. Kim is my Mom and I am J..
Craft kit for plaster hand or feet prints. Your 3 year old boys could decorate themselves and help with little sister's.
the picture calendars are always great and they love them. i usually go to office max to get mine done. i take all of my kids pictures during holidays, etc. it's a great gift.
We made scrapbook calendars last year for the Grandparents, and they loved them so much they have requested us do it again for next year.
I give photo books of the kids every year. I prefer iphoto quality over shutterfly, but shutterfly has a great discount for first time buyers. Also, you can get personalized gifts...aprons with the kids hand prints and above the hand prints it says Grandma's Handy Helpers : ) Lockets with the kid's pictures inside (at Things Remembered you can find a locket that has places for three pictures).
